"Did a great job for us. Took out an old asphalt driveway and installed a new and expanded one. Also added two concrete walkways in the back yard and a stamped concrete walkway in the front yard. It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

  • Osmunda regalis (Royal fern): Royal fern can grow quickly but can also handle being crowded, making them good container plants.

Moss attaches to the ground but doesn’t have roots, so it can take four to six weeks for establishment to begin. It takes between 12 and 18 months for full coverage, and maximum thickness takes about two years. Keep your moss moist and debris-free to ensure it establishes itself well.

If you use the wrong plants for your gardening zone, you’ll likely get less than desirable yields from them. In some cases, your plants can even die. It’s important to ensure that your plants are able to survive in your hardiness zone before getting them into the ground.
