"Came home from out of town for a week to NO HEAT in house. Immediately started making calls trying to find someone to make a service call. All we could do was leave messages. First person called us back couldn’t come out for until next week. We like to use local businesses, and remembered seeing the BUSTLE HEATING and COOLING truck parked at the house near where we live. So we left them a message too. Within 30 minutes we received a callback. They were sorry they couldn’t get to us that day, but put us on the schedule for the next day (today)! They called at 8am and were here shortly thereafter. The Service Techs were very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He did mention that if I searched locally that they might be able to install a new unit less expensively, which I appreciated. I searched a few local companies and decided to go with Doby’s because of the reviews on Angi’s list. Cassie was fantastic and although it was 2:30 on a Friday afternoon, knowing that we’d been without hot water for 3 days, she was able to schedule a technician to install a new unit that day. No. Well pump replacement is not recommended as a DIY project, particularly if you have a deep well and a submersible pump. Plumbing and electricity are best left to the pros, especially when something like your well pump includes both. Even when troubleshooting your pump, it pays to have a partner standing by for your assistance and safety.

Why is my irrigation pump not pulling water?

There are a few reasons your irrigation pump isn’t pulling in water. You could have a clogged suction filter. You may have not properly primed your pump so air got stuck somewhere in the system. Your pump also won’t work properly if it has faulty or damaged pump components, like a pump motor or pressure switch.

How do you set your well’s pressure tank? All you need to do is first drain the tank of water and find the pressure switch. Remove the switch cover and adjust the switch with a wrench—clockwise to increase water pressure, and counter-clockwise to reduce it. Each complete turn of the nut on the switch should equal 2.5 psi. Once this is done, replace the switch cover. All that’s left is to adjust the pressure of the tank itself using an air compressor and a tire gauge to support the new setting.

Ideally, you should conduct a mechanical inspection and a bacterial or well water inspection yearly. While you might be able to push it off to every other year, it’s best to have peace of mind, especially when it comes to something that you use so frequently.
