They left streaks all over our upstairs bath mirror at least I noticed that and had it recleaned. They did not clean any walls, didn't vacuum 2 rugs. The company offered us a $100 refund which is ridiculous. The cleaning we got was only worth $150 in my opinion."

Typically, you should avoid using a traditional carpet cleaner on Oriental rugs because the chemical makeup of carpet cleaners can damage the rug’s natural fibers. You can, however, opt for a neutral pH cleaner, which can do a decent job of cleaning the carpet without damaging it. Vinegar and baking soda work well at lifting old stains from carpet.

  • Pour a generous layer of dry baking soda over the old stain.

  • In a spray bottle, combine distilled white vinegar with 1 cup of warm water. Add a few drops of liquid dish soap.

  • Spray the baking soda area thoroughly with the vinegar solution.

  • Let the vinegar and baking soda sit for a few hours.

  • Wipe or vacuum up the baking soda once it dries, then blot the area with a clean, dry towel.

  • Repeat as needed to lift the stain.
