"Chimney had a moldy damp smell coming out of it. They did a sweep and waterproofed our chimney, sprayed solution inside chimney to get rid of the smell and tightened the mechanism the chain hooks in to, to make the chimney damper have a good seal. They taught us how to know when our chimney damper was open and how to open and close it (And shame on us - we did not realize we had our chimney damper open for several weeks which I'm sure also contributed to moisture getting in to the chimney). They were determined to get to the bottom of our issue which involved multiple visits. They went above and beyond for us and we really appreciate them. So far the moldy smell has really gone down - almost disappeared. I am a happy camper."

I contacted "Shamrock Chimney" and scheduled an appointment with their lead technician "Tony". He suggested a less costly and safer alternative (steel liner and a resealing of the outer brickwork.
