He then diagnosed the problem, which required an access panel to be cut in from the closet next to the shower. He gave us a quote of $850. He capped the pipe and turned on the water. He came the next day and fixed the problem. As he could do the job of less time than he had initially anticipated, he only charged me $308 instead of the $850.
