"Josh replaced our wooden porch railing with wrought iron. He did exactly as we wanted based on pictures we sent him, at a reasonable price, and exactly in the timeframe he said he could do it. He is very meticulous and professional and we would recommend him to anyone and use him again if we have a need. Thank you Josh!"

"I live in a 55+ condo community. The metal platform holding 2 mailboxes was damaged by a delivery truck and the platform was cracked. Troy and his project manager were able to weld the platform back perfectly. Both gentleman were extremely professional, answered all my questions and did a great job. I highly recommend! "Mr. Donnie was prompt and very professional. I was unable to be present while job was being performed. He came to my house and performed the job excellently, even had to fabricate an extra piece due to inferior metal thickness. Would definitely recommend and plan to use his services again!"

"Duran did an outstanding job of sandblasting and powdercoating our 25 yr old front stair railings. They look brand new. The communication was excellent. They were prompt and professional and at a fair price. They followed up to be sure we were happy with their work. I would highly recommend them."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Welders use a variety of methods in their trade. Different types of welding are better suited for different purposes and contexts. For example, stick welding is a versatile form suitable for most metals and alloys. The most common types of welding include:

  • Stick welding: $100–$1,000

  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding: $250 and up

  • Gas welding: $150 and up

  • Forge welding: $15–$25 per hour

Yes, you can use a saw to cut metal pipes. The best saw to use is a reciprocating saw, but even a fine-tooth hacksaw can get the job done. No matter which saw you use to cut metal pipes, wear protective gear, like work gloves, safety goggles, and ear plugs. Apply a firm, steady pressure to the tool, and always ensure the pipes are secured so they don't move while you make the cuts.

The best thing to cut metal pipe is a durable pipe cutter that is made for metal. You may want to measure the diameter of the pipes before purchasing a pipe cutter to ensure it will be able to cut your metal pipes. Opt for a heavy-duty option to cut through metal like steel or cast iron.

Welding is the process of using extreme heat—and, sometimes, pressure—to attach two pieces of metal. In contrast, metal fabrication is a more involved process that can include welding, sheet metal work, bending, and other forms of metal manipulation. Metal fabrication is a large-scale project that may or may not involve welding, while welding is more often a step in larger fabrication projects.

Cutting rectangular ductwork requires careful measurements and the right technique. Use a measuring tape and pencil to mark the cutting lines accurately. Tin snips are excellent for straight cuts on smaller ducts. For more extensive or thicker rectangular ducts, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade is effective.

Ensure the duct is well-supported and secure while cutting to prevent wobbling and maintain precision. After cutting, use a metal file to smooth any sharp edges, ensuring safety during installation.
