"My wife and I were so pleased with Chris and his team from the work on our crawl space that we hired them to remove and install new insulation in our entire house. Due to a previous leak in the roof the insulation wasn't effective. All About Energy Solutions came in and removed all of the old insulation and put new insulation in. They also added a radiant barrier. Chris is extremely knowledgable and passionate about what he does and wants to teach you about the benefits of the solutions they provide. This has been the second job we have hired Chris for and wouldn't hesitate to hire him or recommend him. Chris continues to go above and beyond for us."

"Sales rep, Tommy, was thoroughly entertaining while he explained the "basics" of roofing and the options available through CRC. He was very informative and confidant in their products and even suggested some tips on getting other proposals. I shouldn't have wasted my time with the "others", which were considerably less informative, more "pushy", and not really any less expensive (one of the "big name" competitors was actually a substantial amount higher).

The install process went extremely smoothly; the crew was on-time, very polite, and very efficient. The install supervisor kept me informed every step of the way and fixed some minor problems related to some hidden wood rot and documented everything with pictures (I wonder whether the competitors would have simply covered it up and left it to worsen???)

I expected to find pieces of shingles or nails around my house or in the landscaping but there was not one single scrap and absolutely no evidence of them being there except for the great looking new roof!

During the follow up visit to make sure I was completely happy with their roofing services, Van and Tommy mentioned that CRS also does attic insulation. After another educational description of the process, I accepted their very reasonable proposal and 2 days later the attic was insulated with no problems and absolutely no mess!!!

A few months have gone by and I'm extremely happy with both the new roof and the attic insulation!

The house is noticeably quieter (no more pitter patter of squirrel feet!) and I have already enjoyed a reduction in the heating/cooling costs since the HVAC system doesn't need to run as hard to keep the inside temp constant.

Many thanks to everyone at CRS for making this a pleasant home improvement project!

"I can't recommend Koala Insulation enough for its outstanding service and expertise in blown-in insulation. From the very beginning, my experience was exceptional. The customer service (Tiffany) was incredibly helpful and informative. She answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly. When the Consultant came out he explained the different insulation options and recommending the best solution for my needs. Scheduling the appointment was a breeze, and they were flexible and accommodating. The technicians who arrived for the installation were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the entire process beforehand and answered any questions I had. The quality of their work was outstanding. They were meticulous and efficient, ensuring all areas were properly insulated. They also cleaned up thoroughly afterward, leaving no mess behind. Overall Experience: I'm extremely satisfied with the entire experience with Koala Insulation of Eastern Carolina"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

Drywalling a garage is a smart decision if you want to protect your garage from fires, moisture damage, and exterior noise. Most garages have flammable supplies that could result in serious damage in the off chance of an accident. Drywall is fire resistant, helping to prevent fires from spreading. Not to mention, drywall can improve the appearance of a dingy, old garage.

With its breathability and flexibility, lime plaster is among the most durable of all plaster types. It's also fire-resistant and has a proven track record, as people have been using it for thousands of years.

However, all plaster types will last for many years with the right care and treatment. Proper preparation and installation will also help ensure your plaster walls look great for as long as possible.

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

You should start looking for a drywall installer by choosing a local company with positive online reviews and ratings with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Next, confirm that the professional is properly licensed using Angi’s contractor licensing tool, and ask the installer if they are fully insured. It’s a good idea to ask for recent customer references and call them to get their honest opinion about the contractor and their work. You can also ask the installer if they guarantee their work or provide a workmanship warranty.
