Previous to establishing Heartwood, Mr. McDermott graduated with a degree in Sustainable Technology and the Built Environment. Completing this degree demonstrated an understanding in proper building methods to ensure the longevity of built structures. Along with schoolwork, Mr. McDermott has been involved in a number of foundation to finished homes, extensive remodels, timber framed entries, barn additions, numerous deck builds as well as various millwork and fine carpentry projects. While Heartland Builders is a relatively new company, members of the team possess experience in combination with previous and continuing education that provides clients with a quality product.
