"Chip contacted me within hours of receiving my inquiry and provided me with a very competitive estimate. Chip brought his co-worker Dennis to our home a few days later, which just happened to be New Year's Day, and completed our carpet stretching project in a matter of hours. Chip took the time to explain what was happening with our carpet and walked me through how he was going to fix it. When the job was complete, he and Dennis had everything cleaned up and looking AMAZING. I am so incredibly happy with his work, and will hire him again for any future project. I highly recommend Chip...five starts isn't enough to rate Chip, his crew, and the work they did for us! Absolutely outstanding!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

You may get better coverage painting your baseboards if you do so before carpet is installed. The best course of action may be to attempt to paint them between having the old floor removed and the new floor laid, though this will render the room unusable for a period of time and may make the entire project a bit slower overall.

Yes, installing laminate over carpet could negatively affect the resale value of your home. It’s no surprise that homebuyers prefer flooring that someone has installed according to industry standards. Laminate over carpet may raise concerns about the quality and stability of the flooring, impacting the overall perceived value of the property.

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.

The best underlayment for carpet on concrete is a sponge rubber underlayment. This type of carpet padding is durable enough to endure wear and tear on hard concrete yet soft enough to provide comfort underfoot. It also creates insulation from sound and temperature, providing warmth despite the concrete’s cold surface.
