"I selected Personal Touch Home Solutions (Jim Burton) from among numerous others who also bid on the job. Jim's rates were reasonable, and his priority was making sure I was happy with the final product. The project was finishing a basement, but this also involved an extensive demo as the house was old and previous attempts to modernize were not well planned or performed. As is typical with a remodel, unexpected challenges presented themselves. Jim enthusiastically developed solutions to each issue. He went the extra mile with custom carpentry to accommodate this basement's unique geometry. Although he was hired to finish the basement, he also made time to address issues and improvements in the remainder of the house. He kept a clean worksite and coordinated subcontractors throughout the project. Highly recommend!"

T&D drywall is a newer business but I have been in the drywall business for going on 9 years now. We are strictly hangers we don’t tape and texture.

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

In some areas, insulation companies require a special license, while some states only require them to hold general contractor licenses. Some municipalities may not mandate any license, although you should always ensure a contractor is fully insured. You can use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm whether or not an insulation contractor you’re considering holds the necessary license for your area. You can also contact the company for information regarding licenses, certifications, and insurance.

Adding too much insulation can have detrimental effects on your home and on your wallet. Where you live will determine the optimal amount of insulation for your home and in your ceilings. Adding more than the recommended amounts can cause airflow problems that can lead to moisture trouble. You may also spend more than necessary by adding too much insulation to the point that it'll become unrecoverable through your energy bills.

We do not recommend fiberglass insulation for soundproofing purposes, especially if you are working on a room that’s part of your living space. Fiberglass insulation is dangerous, and the installation process is hazardous. It is also harmful to the environment. When there are so many newer, healthier non-fiberglass alternatives in the market, the lower cost of fiberglass insulation simply doesn’t justify the harm and danger it poses.

Asphalt roofs provide better insulation than metal roofs, but that doesn’t always mean that asphalt roofs are better for reducing heating and cooling bills. In hotter climates, metal roofs will usually be better for home efficiency because the material reflects more sunlight and reduces solar heat gain. In colder climates, asphalt roofs are sometimes superior in terms of efficiency because they introduce more solar heat gain to your home and have greater insulating capabilities. However, metal roofs installed with an air gap can provide similar levels of insulation.

Most heat in a garage is lost through air leaks in windows, doors, and walls. This is especially true if the walls are uninsulated, which is common in garages. Consider insulating your garage before installing a garage heater to ensure the heat it generates isn’t wasted, making it less efficient.
