"I've given A-DRAIN PLUMBING 5 Stars. I only wish I could give them 10. A-Drain Plumbing came to my rescue when every other Plumber in town was just too busy. With -40 temperatures pipes & waterlines broke all over & around town. I called & let them know I lived outside of town in the country & my main water line had broke. They looked at their priorities & fit me in As soon as they possibly could. I received a call back unexpectedly right away & texts letting me know where they were & how soon they could come help me. A-Drain Plumbing completely know their business. Kind, courteous & extremely experienced. 10 Stars from me! Thank you A-DRAIN PLUMBING!"

"James replaced our one piece tub and shower with walls with a 4 piece shower surround. He did an excellent job removing the old set up and installing the new. He also moved and fixed our drain (including pipes) so it drains properly. The job also included the new shower head and handle. We had the freedom to chose the shower set up and fixture. He added an access panel to the water supply. As a bonus he expertly tiled from the top of the shower walls to the ceiling and around the outside edges of the shower For our safety (we are seniors) he added 4 safety bars. It looked like too much but we use every one of them. Some features added a bit to the overall cost but James verified every step before proceeding. James did quality and timely work at a cost much lower than all the quotes we received."

"Communication was on point. With all the fly by night â contractors out there where you never know who you will be working with- Nathan was great. He was with me beginning to end. It was a much easier process than i was expecting. I will have him do my other bathroom after the new year."

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Whether replacing a bathtub with a shower affects your home's value depends on several factors, with the most significant being whether it's the only tub in the house. Removing the sole bathtub can lower a home's value because many prospective buyers, particularly families with young children or pets, require at least one.

However, a tub-to-shower conversion can also increase home value. A modern walk-in shower is often seen as an upgrade in a secondary bathroom and can be a desirable feature for its accessibility and style, appealing to older homebuyers or those without children. The overall impact is also influenced by your local real estate market and its typical buyer demographic.

If your bathroom layout allows, installing both a freestanding bathtub and a separate shower can be an ideal solution that appeals to the widest range of potential buyers.

You can resurface or reglaze your bathtub, and it’s faster and less expensive than replacing a bathtub. Plus, replacing a bathtub is an extensive and intrusive process that requires wall repairs. Refinishing is an excellent option if the old one is in good working condition.

There are also options to install a bathtub liner over your existing tub. However, if you’re seeking a new bathtub with new features, you’ll likely want to replace your tub.

It’s substantially less expensive to reglaze a tub than to replace it. The average cost of reglazing a bathtub is between $400 and $700, but that range may be higher based on where you live and the type of tub you have. Meanwhile, if you want to replace the bathtub, you’re looking at $2,000 to $9,400, with the average close to $5,700.

When buying caulk, look for ones labeled for tub and tile. These have either acrylic latex or silicone compounds. This allows the caulk to stick to smooth surfaces and prevent mildew from forming.

The overflow drain and wastewater drain connect to the same main pipe to take water away from your bathtub. Your overflow drain is meant to prevent damage to your bathroom—especially the floor around your bathtub, where excess water can quickly create a mold or mildew problem.
