Offering seamless steel, higher grade vinyl and price point vinyl siding for rental units or income properties, cultured stone (masonry), fascia, soffits, gutters, roofing (metal and asphalt), replacement & new construction windows.

"I had Big Sky Exterior Designs re-roof my 2000 sq.ft. house and garage due to hail damage from the August 2019 storm. The 4 man crew was qualified and efficient. I asked them if they could finish it in one day and they did. They worked from just after 7:00 am till after 9:00 pm. I was a construction inspector for many years and I know they did a really good job and kept the backyard gates closed keeping my dogs safe. I have found a few nails around the perimeter of the house but that is to be expected as it was almost dark by the time they were doing the clean up. I would definitely hire them again."

The difference between a mortise latch and a tubular latch is how they're mounted. A mortise latch has a single integrated lock body. One long rectangular space is cut into the door to contain it. Start by checking the top or side edge of the door. Look for a certification label or metal tag stamped with details like the fire rating and information on the manufacturer. Even if it’s painted over, the tag should still be visible. Next, look along the edges for slim intumescent strips. They’re designed to swell up and seal gaps when exposed to heat. Finally, check if the door closes itself. Most fire doors have a self-closing mechanism, like an overhead closer or spring hinges. If none of these are obvious, contact a fire safety professional to help verify your door. 

If a wooden door swells from temporary humidity or moisture, it should return to its original size as the environment dries out. However, if the door remains swollen due to prolonged exposure to moisture or water damage, it may not fully revert to its original shape and could require repairs or replacement. Using a dehumidifier and ensuring your doorway has good ventilation can help prevent and reduce swelling in wooden doors.
