"Mountain top Enterprises got back to me very timely. They were on time, go getters that got the job done. There were some alterations ,upgrades that needed done and they troubleshooted it perfect. They fixed the well leak, added a pressure valve and even helped get my sprinkler system on. Hats off to them. It was a little more expensive than the quote but well worth it."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning, inspecting for wear, and retracting during storms extend its lifespan.

It’s best to keep your awning retracted if winds are 25 miles per hour or more to make sure your awning doesn’t sustain irreparable damage due to wind. Some awnings can take winds up to 30 miles per hour without any damage, but it’s best to consult the manufacturer’s guidance. A good rule of thumb is if it’s too windy for you to comfortably stand outside, it’s time to bring the awning in.

Costs depend on material type, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or gutters.

Retractable awnings offer numerous advantages for homeowners, including protecting your outdoor furniture against the elements. It can also help keep your deck in better shape since it adds a layer of protection against sun and precipitation.

Stainless steel and copper are the most durable and will probably last the longest, especially when you compare them to fabric awnings. Steel is the most popular if your budget isn’t a top priority, but some people prefer copper awnings over steel because they are lighter, which makes them easier to install. Aluminum offers a more budget-friendly metal awning option that is still attractive and offers some durability, especially compared to fabric.
