2. I had concerns about my very expnensive landscaping aroung the house, and some special plants and roses I had brought in from my mother's South Dakota home when she passed away. Those things can't be replaced. They took careful steps to protect the plants, and even had to do quite a bit of tree triming I had not consider would have to be done. 3. I was also very impressed by how neat they were each day, and the fact that they cleaned up so well you would have never even known they were here at all. 4. The most impressive thing that they did though was the amount of nails used on the shingles. The 50 year insurance that came as part of our deal required 4 nails per shingle. They got to experience firsthand the kind of wind we have out here, and they used 5 nails per shingle and on some spots more. We went up to check after they left for the day on the second day, and they did all that was promised. 5. There was some kind of mix up on my address on getting the 50 year insurance, but it came, and if anything happens to this roof, it is covered. We had this roof completely done in 2002, and it was guaranteed. The contractor disspeared and we had no recourse when the poorly done roof failed. This time, we have that covered. 6. We are very pleased and would highly recommend A&B Roofing.

I have known Larry for a few years when he and I worked for Caras Nursery here in Missoula. He is a Master Gardener, and is willing to do whatever I want done, and has given me help from sharpening my own garden tools to advice on when to move or prune shrubs and plants. He arrives every other Wednesday between 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM and gives me 4 hours of work without stopping. Larry is very careful not to damage plants hiding under the weeds and grass. I have been unable to maintain my garden for 2 years, so it was a real mess! It's been quite a relief to find someone I can depend on to do what I suppose some would call menial work. Other people I have known have had quite a time finding someone who is thorough and dependable. The job from now on will be to spread a thick layer of straw over the areas he has weeded so the yard won't look abandoned next year. I would highly recommend Treasure State Tree Service. They were VERY professional once they got here. We ordered 3 large (13-15 foot) pine trees for our backyard. They brought them, dug the holes with a small backhoe, planted the trees and then put up stakes and ropes to stabilize them so they would grow straight. Our grass was very wet from recent rains and they put down wood in most areas where they drove the backhoe so they would not tear up the grass. We did end up with some areas of torn up turf, but they seemed to have healed over the winter. They gave a graduated planting cost based on the number of trees you bought, which we found very nice and enabled us to plant 3 rather than 2 trees. Our only frustration with Treasure State Tree Service was punctuality and responsiveness. We had them scheduled for a set day. They called and cancelled (after numerous phone calls to find out why they hadn't arrived) that day because another job was taking longer than expected. They were supposed to come the next day, but it rained. We rescheduled many times and got cancelled because of rain. Finally, the rain stopped, and we got scheduled again. They said they would be at our house by 9:00. It was closer to 11:00. My husband wanted to be here, but had an appointment so he wasn't able to be here which was very frustrating for him. Had they come on the first scheduled day he could have been there. The young men they had working for them were very nice, professional and responsive to any requests and/or suggestions. Overall, we were very pleased with the trees, the planting, the office staff, and would easily give them an A if it hadn't been for the issues with not only not coming on time either day we had scheduled but not being responsive when we tried to contact them to find out when they would show."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mt/missoula/treasure-state-tree-service-reviews-6416163.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Hover Construction","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MT","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"David M."},"reviewBody":"Mr. Hover and his crew demolished, removed scrap and material, cut and replaced siding including use of ladders to the second story including some roof work. Clean-up at the end of each day was done so that yards were accessible, scrap disposed of and picked up, and materials covered from the weather. Mr. Hover was punctual, very communicative, and professional. I discussed it with co-owner Will Malone and he told the crew that they must be extra careful to do the job without damage to the landscaping. They arranged drop cloths and barriers to contain any falling roofing material and they worked very carefully in removing old material. There was no damage to any of the plants and ground cover thanks to their diligence. The crew was always polite and neat. The final cleanup was excellent. Certain areas of the roof needed metal work: a small opening in a dormer wall needed to be covered; the area around a dormer fan needed to be enclosed with metal, etc. One of the crew members did all the necessary metal work with neatly and skillfully; very pleased with his professionalism. Also appreciated was the fact that crews are not allowed to bring / play radios while working. That means a much quieter day for the home owner. Will was always responsive to phone calls, questions, requests before and during the job. He provided a complete packet on the materials that would be used, a list of recent customers with their addresses and phone numbers for me to check, the company's insurance and licensing information, etc. The job was done excellently, and co-owners Will Malone and Chad Jacobson were open, honest and forthright in all their dealing with me. We shared ideas and we had a plan with in minutes. He was very receptive to our ideas and gave us ideas that we weren't thinking about. He even gave me several ideas of things that I could do to cut costs, which I did. When we received the estimate and analysis, we decided to cut about half of it out for this year and I had another estimate and an appointment that same day. When the day arrived for the work to be done, Chris was not only here, but he was working! I love that! I can't believe all they did in the day and a half it took them. Father Nature obviously hires people with a very strong work ethic and knowledge of landscaping. I was amazed at the results. They go above and beyond what they say they are going to do. Something as simple as spraying weeds in my parking area below where they were landscaping and in my driveway. They had to of planted over 50 plants, trees and shrubs not including transplanting 4 large barberrys and 4 rhodies. Incredible. I just don't think the pictures give it justice. FAQs for plant watering projects in Missoula, MT
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
