We had an emergency. We had some water come through the wall into our hallway. We had no idea why so we called our plumber. He checked for water in the walls, said there was moisture in the walls and said we needed a roofer. We were concerned about collapsing walls so we got recommendaions from friends and called A&B Roofing. They came right away, put ice melt on the roof, and cleared the ice jam on the roof next to the house. What a relief with Christmas a few days away and family coming. We have some follow up to do after the holidays but A&B will come back if we need them with ore ice melt.

These guys were super busy but they told me that up front so I was not surprised when I got pushed back a couple weeks. They did come out and put a tarp on when I explained I had an active leak and the price for the job was very good. Clean up was good, not perfect but very acceptable, If I have roof problems again they will be at the top of my list!

Good to work with on the front end and one reason I chose them over another company was Zac said they could start in 2-3 weeks. After they got a deposit in July it took over 8 weeks to get started. Had several weeks of "it should be any day now". Finished work in Oct. after first snow. Good work and reasonable price but dont have high expectations on them doing the work when they say. Other roofers said it would be 6-8 weeks as I didn't start getting bids until June. Maybe if you get a bid in March or April they will do it in the summer. Better yet make them commit to a "work complete no later than" date in the contract. All roofers I talked to wanted a significant deposit up front and there seems to be more demand than supply. Might request deposit be returned if work is not in progress by a week or two before completion date. I wanted to leave the will hire again box blank and just let you read my review, but it was required I check one. Since I shouldn't need a roof again for decades and this wasn't a great experience I checked no. The only real reason I wont hire a contractor again is if they do poor work and/or charge too much. Otherwise I try to to be flexible for skilled trades in demand.

The roof took a week which was good, clean up missed some things and since we are a daycare kinda nervous about that. The gutters the gentleman did a great job on the removal and replacement on that was great.

Fine - they arrived shortly after they were scheduled, got to work promptly, worked hard and finished about when expected. They (the subcontractors) were professional and easy to deal with. Cleanup was very good, with just a few pieces of old roofing material in some bushes and in the grass.

The existing deck stairs were not level with the patio area being installed not something we had almost complete privacy provided from the limbs on the roof for months until the project and would many days be there working along with his crew and would pay close attention to detail.John Lang did come out to go over the problem with us.

1.  He is  pretty busy, so you need to call earlier in the season than I did, but he told me fairly how long the wait time would be and he stuck to it.
2.  I had concerns about my very expnensive landscaping aroung the house, and some special plants and roses I had brought in from my mother's South Dakota home  when she passed away.  Those things can't be replaced.  They took careful steps to protect the plants, and even had to do quite a bit of tree triming I had not consider would have to be done.
3.  I was also very impressed by how neat they were each day, and the fact that they cleaned up so well you would have never even known they were here at all.
4.  The most impressive thing that they did though was the amount of nails used on the shingles. The  50 year insurance that came as part of our deal required 4 nails per shingle.  They got to experience firsthand the kind of wind we have out here, and they used 5 nails per shingle and on some spots more.  We went up to check after they left for the day on the second day, and they did all that was promised.
5. There was some kind of mix up on my address on getting the 50 year insurance, but it came, and if anything happens to this roof, it is covered.  We had this roof completely done in 2002, and it was guaranteed.  The contractor disspeared and we had no recourse when the poorly done roof failed.  This time, we have that covered.
6.  We are very pleased and would highly recommend A&B Roofing.

I was very impressed.  They were very professional.
They were ready to go within a few days of receiving our down payment.  They requested 20% down.  The crew was quick and orderly.  They didn't leave one scrap of material or nails from the old roof.  (I looked.  We have little kids, and a nail in the foot - not good).
About two or three weeks after they installed the solar tube lighting (which is awesome, by the way...highly recommended) the reflective tubing which connect from the roof to the ceiling became detached.  We called them and came out the next business day.  They fixed it without charge.
I would recommend them highly.

A&B Roofing was terrific.  Andrew (the "A" of A&B)  responded very promptly to our initial call for a new-roof estimate from a wind-damaging storm.  After he did a preliminary roof investigation on his first visit, he returned with quotes and provided us with several endorsed products to review along with sample boards.  We chose a new product that provided an insurance discount.  At this time, he took his time with us, answering questions and going over all of our options in detail.   All through the process, he was in communication with us, particularly since we were experiencing one of the worst February snowfalls in Montana history.  While our job had to be postponed (1-2 jobs were originally scheduled ahead of us before the storm), we were pleasantly surprised when the crew showed up a day early of the revised start date. We found the entire crew to be very pleasant, prompt and courteous, cleaning the job site after each visit. Another round of heavy snow postponed the job briefly for a couple of days, and any exposed areas got covered with tarps. I thought the weather conditions were still dubious upon their return (freezing temps and slickness), but their confidence, skills and general professionalism finished the job . Overall, the work was well done and fast.  We met Brian (the "B" of A&B) at completion and found him to be ? like Andrew and the rest of the crew ? very personable.  Our new roof looks great, and the whole job was within budget.  We highly recommend A&B and will have them back to re-roof our detached garage.

Tear off, installation of new wind proof composition shingles roof and accessories.  They spent good deal of time planning and then executed on their plan.  Also advised on cost alternatives and delineated "must haves" vs. "nice to haves". Nice clean up too.  Finished roof looks better than ever.

We needed a small repair--a single shingle--after a particularly bad wind storm. After comparing reviews on Angie's List, we contacted A&B Roofing through their website. Andrew responded via email within a couple of hours and quoted the minimum price for small repairs ($125). The repair was accomplished quickly, and I received an emailed invoice, which I very much appreciated (less paper is better!).
I couldn't be happier with A&B Roofing. They were prompt, professional, and we will definitely use them in the future for any of our roofing needs.

A & B brought in a large truck to dump all the debris in as they worked.  Yard and area kept free of old roofing and boxes for new shingles and skylights.  Always worked neatly.  Crew was helpful in answering questions and showing us materials that they were taking up for installation.  Love our new skylights!
Help for future reference:  I neglected to cover areas under skylights and had some dust and plaster material fall into the room when prep work was being done for new installations.

A&B installed 30 -year GAF Timberline ("weathered wood") shingles
plus gutters and soffits.  They also installed a ridge cap.
GAF Shingles = $5,050.  ($200 more than CertainTeed which is also an option).
Gutters = $575 (for 83 linear feet).
Soffits (20 3-inch) = $400.
I have a small, two bedroom house (1940) with approximately 1,000 square feet on the main floor with a 300 foot mudroom addition.
The two man crew (Mike and Joe) had to install the gutters over crown molding along the bottom edge of the roof which took longer than they anticipated.  I also asked them to extend the downspout on the gutters an extra foot AND hinge the extension so I could flip it up in order to mow under it during the summer.  Part way through the job, it started to snow and they promptly covered the roof with tarps.  After several days they started roofing again.
I have a bay window on the front of the house which has an angular roof line, kind of like three slices of pie coming together if you were to look down on it.  This was challenging to roof over but Mike came up with a great solution using the existing shingles rather than installing ridge top shingles on the seams.  (A little difficult to explain but they did a great job.)
Other than a few small scraps of the old tar paper, I found their cleanup to be immaculate.
I also asked them to connect exhaust tubing for the bathroom fan out through the roof since it had been venting into the attic.  This cost me an additional $200 (not included above) but was well worth it.
Whenever I phoned Mike on my cell, he picked up and answered all my questions with professionalism and courtesy.
The final price came in right on bid.
All in all, A&B did a great job, both on the roof and in keeping me updated throughout the job.  I would definitely choose them for another job.

Lowest bidder of three, two men finished in two days, estimator and workmen were on time, easy to get ahold of, and seemed to care about the job. Workers even skipped lunch the second day to finish. Excellent cleanup, had everything they needed for the job. They even asked, and let me add some junk to their dump load. Highly recommend.

Last summer, we received bids from 4 Missoula roofing companies.  A&B was by far the most responsive, which is one of the reasons we used them.  A&B had also been recommended to us by a friend.  When I called them the first time they set a time to come to our house for an estimate.  They showed up on time, and gave me the estimate in writing before they left.  Their bid was in the middle of the 4 bids we eventually received.  Two of the other roofing companies eventually got us a bid, but it took them several weeks.  One company never gave us a written bid, just called and gave a verbal estimate.  Of the two other companies that gave us wrtitten bids, only one ever called back to follow up.

A week later after coming to our house to give us a bid,  A&B called back to ask if we had any questions.  We decided to wait until the fall to do the roof, but asked them to check back in September.  They called back in September, and we said we did have a few questions.  They set an appointment to come to the house the next day.  They answered all our questions, and are helping us to file a claim based on some defective shingles in a class action suit.  They also agreed to remove a skylight an install a new smaller version.  We decided to use them and paid a deposit and they gave us an estimated start date. They were actually able to start a week earlier than they estimated.  Although the job required several more days than they thought it would, they worked hard and came in on budget.  They were good with cleanup, and even went to the neighbors yard to run the magnets to make sure they got all the roofing nails.  We are extremely pleased with them.

The first estimate was done very quickly and Brian gave me a very clear idea of what my options were. After collecting 8 estimates I found they were the lowest bidder but I wanted to revisit the estimate to get more detail about the cost of roofing a flat porch. Brian came over again and set a very reasonable price for the porch. He was clear that it would be about a month before they could get to the job. One month later they got it done with a good sized crew over two days. The crew was helpful, polite, quick and tidy. They cleaned up as they worked and never left a mess on the yard. I was amazed that they didn't hurt any of our many plants around the house! Brian called later to make sure the work was satisfactory and then came by the house one more time to get us started on the paperwork to collect on a warrantee on the old Certainteed shingles.

We were able to choose a modern roof in a beautiful color that complimented our home. The change was amazing. The workman were prompt and professional. When they were done, which was super quick, everything was perfectly clean. We could not have been happier. Andrew and Brian are very professional, knowledgeable and were very easy to work with. From the beginning, we knew what to expect and the work was always done right on time. We would highly recommend!
