"Echo Elite does professional repair/remodeling. The time it took to complete was impacted first by Covid, then by my surgeries. Though it took a year to complete, all was done to my satisfaction. The company owner made sure I knew when something was horribly wrong and NEEDED to be fixed. I was allowed to make the decision to proceed or not. Very professional. The painting of my house is beautiful; a real show piece. I highly recommend Echo Elite."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

While cedar and pine are two of the most common wooden fence materials, everything from redwood to bamboo is also available. You can also purchase pressure-treated wood, which better withstands water damage and the threat of pests. The best wood for your fence will come down to your budget, local climate, and preferred look.

Standard post spacing for shadowbox fences is 6 to 8 feet. This spacing ensures proper support for the heavy weight of overlapping pickets and prevents sagging between posts. However, areas with high winds, slopes, or unstable soil conditions may require closer spacing.

Planting greenery on a fence can help achieve more privacy, whether it’s shrubs along a picket or chain link fence or rolls of faux greenery to help create a solid-colored backdrop beyond the fence line. You can also try adding more lattice or paneling across a fence so that there are fewer places where passing eyeballs can see in.

A board on board fence is more expensive than other types of privacy fences. That’s because these fences require overlapping boards, which drives up material and labor costs. On average, a board on board fence costs 30% more than an average wood fence.

Because this composite fencing and deck material is made from both wood and plastic, it’s more durable than either alone. It’s so popular for outdoor purposes because it really does stand the test of time. Heavy rain and high heat won’t greatly change its structural integrity; it can last up to 25 years in total with proper care.
