"Nathan completed our flooring project in December of 2021 which included the living room, dining room and kitchen. Floors have held up nicely over this last year. He pays attention to detail and it shows. He completed the installation in one day as he was aware of our time constraints. Highly recommended and will use him again when we're ready to finish the rest of our home."

"Eric Poole, Forefront Flooring, did an excellent job installing vinyl wood flooring in our entire basement. He was not only meticulous about how the flooring was laid and he worked quickly and accurately. We highly recommend Eric for his hard work from beginning to end. The estimate for the job was far better than any of the other estimates that we had!"

"I have absolutely no complaints.  Pete was pleasant to deal with and very responsive to emails and phone calls.  While visiting about the job, he told me they were about a month out, which was not bad because another company I talked to claimed to be a year out.  So, I gave Pete a check and the signed agreement.  A week and a half later, he called and said they could come out and do our roof.  His guys showed up when they said they would and worked through two blustery cold days.  The crew was friendly and a pleasure to talk to when asking questions.  They had the old roof off and the area cleaned really well the first day, a Thursday. The second day, a Friday, they had the shingles installed and only needed to finish the cap at the peak. They came back and finished it up on Saturday morning.  On each visit, they left the yard clean and in good shape.  I highly recommend Little Roofing and Construction if you have any roofing work you need done.

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

It is almost always necessary to hire a land surveyor near you to ensure your fence sits on the right side of the property line. Mistaking the shape of your property can lead to fines and costly changes if you have to move or adjust the privacy fence—not to mention some surly looks from your neighbor. We recommend jumpstarting your fence planning in the spring to ensure there is plenty of time to map out your plan before construction season.

Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.

Measure from zero on a measuring tape by placing the metal hook right up against the edge of what you need to measure. You can also latch the hook onto an open edge—of, say, a table—to accurately measure as well. If you begin at the 1-inch mark, you'll need to subtract an inch from your total.

Several government-backed lending programs can help first-time home buyers purchase a home with little money down. FHA, USDA, and VA loans are options for qualifying borrowers, though many conventional mortgage lenders will lower down payment rates to as low as 3 percent.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.
