Customers say: True professional

"I feel that he was very experienced and professional. He wasn't afraid to ask for clarifications when he didn't quite understand something - I appreciated that. I feel that he did a very thorough inspection and would definitely recommend to anyone else."

"Want to go on record to say that service was excellent from initial contact and a thorough timely evaluation and appraisal with supporting documentation. I found the work to be very professional and was done in an expedient fashion. Company was very transparent in pricing and I found their actual pricepoint to be more than fair for the final rendered report. That said, I would gladly use this company again if I had the need."

"WOW! Groundworks is a great, reliable company! We had the dream team, Ryan, Alejando (Alex) and Jose, working on our home. Ryan kept us informed on what was going on the during the whole project. Ryan and Alex were so reassuring of all our fears and concerns, we knew we were in good hands. Alex and Jose were so polite and talk about hard working!! All three of them went above and beyond, exceeding our expectations, saving some landscaping we didn't expect to be saved. They took great care with our landscaping and yard and did not cause any unexpected damage to any of it! They did a great job with the clean-up at the end of the job as well. These three men worked great together as a team. We were happy to see them everyday and a little sad when we said good bye."

"I was needing new shingles on my home due to a recent wind storm. After reaching out for several estimates through Angi’s list, I decided on AMPCo Construction. After receiving news of an unexpected illness, I was needing the job done sooner than later. When the owners Anthony and Malisa heard, they made sure their team was ready and able to expedite and complete the project quickly and very professionally, including caring for us and their work team like we’re family & friends. They made sure to keep me involve through the whole project. At the end, my yard was cleaned up as if nothing happened. Just for the short time of knowing Anthony and Malisa, you can see the compassion for the people and communities and they strive on doing a great job and they keep their costs reasonable and fair. I highly recommend AMPCo Construction for all your roofing projects."

"I am a first time home buy and am not very handy. Bill was early enough to the inspection that we had some time to chat after. He spoke to me about some good Doâ s and Do Notâ s for making my home â my ownâ . As he was doing the inspection he had me write down some important regular home maintenance things like draining the water heater annually, monthly AC filters and flushing, and several other things. Bill was referred by a friend and our general feel is that heâ s just an honest regular guy who owns this business. Seems to like doing a good job. If you have made it to this far in the review section, just hire this guy and start worrying about the next task in your home buying. Youâ re buying peace of mind."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Yes, in most cases, you can back out of your offer if you’re unsatisfied with something in the inspection. However, there is usually no recourse for doing so. The only exception would be if you waived the home inspection, a somewhat common practice to get your offer accepted in a highly competitive market. Waiving the home inspection doesn’t prevent you from getting an inspection, but you usually can’t walk away from the home after the inspection if there’s something wrong.

Hearing or feeling vibrations in your house can be unsettling, but there are a few possible causes for a vibrating noise in your wall or floor. Light bulbs and fixtures, circuit breakers, loose pipes, or faulty wiring could all cause vibrations. If you’re not sure what’s causing the vibrations, you can call a contractor to assess your home and narrow down the cause.

Visible growth, musty odors, and water damage are common indicators.

Insurance companies will often take pictures of your house to confirm property details before issuing a policy or after receiving a claim. The insurance company may keep these photos on hand to compare to later pictures if you make a claim. It’s common for an insurance company to send someone to photograph the exterior of your home and your property without notifying you in advance. However, they’ll need to let you know ahead of time if they need to take interior pictures.

At a minimum, landlords typically perform an apartment home inspection before tenants move in and after they move out. Most lease agreements include a “right to entry” clause allowing for “inspection by the landlord.” They do this to check for damage, identify repairs and maintenance needs, and ensure tenants are following property rules.
