"Katie did an amazing job on my windows and gutters. They were immaculate! The windows, screens and sills were left so clean they shined! She was a very hard worker and a perfectionist. The gutters were also done in the same immaculate manner. I would highly recommend that Katie with Montana Home Pros clean your windows and gutters."

Customers say: Quick response

"Excellent work done to remove giant Blue Spruce, which partially landed on my roof after it just broke in half on its own. The crew worked in harmony, not a wasted move, and safely removed the downed limb off my roof, and the rest of the tree which became a hazard. No damage to roof, and was really fun to watch the crew go to work. I would definitely recommend them."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A grafted tree is a tree grown by combining two trees. It takes expertise. Branches from grafted trees don’t grow strong roots. Save yourself the time and frustration by having an arborist help you with this advanced project.

You can often tell if a tree is grafted because it will have a noticeable line. Above the line, the bark will look different than it does below the line. It’s most common with fruit trees.

Consumers typically do not need to worry about the cost of tree insurance, as professional tree service companies pay for their own coverage. For a tree service business, an average U.S. policy covering about $1 million in general liability costs roughly $40 a month or $500 a year. More extensive policies, providing between $500,000 to $2 million in coverage, can cost between $3,000 and $6,000 annually, depending on the company's size and scope of work. Tree service professionals should speak with an insurance company to determine the right plan for their business.

Steer clear of the area and contact your utility company immediately. It will have a website portal and/or a phone number to report downed trees and electrical issues. If the tree appears to be on public land, you may want to call your local government and report the issue there, too.

An unsafe tree can cause serious damage to your home and property, so tree inspections are important to ensure your home isn’t in danger from a nearby tree. Unhealthy trees can also be unsafe trees, as diseases and insect damage can compromise a tree’s stability, leading to potential damage and safety risks.

Not every arborist climbs trees, but most will do so if that’s the best method for assessing or treating a tree. Arborists have a variety of tree climbing gear and safety equipment to choose from when climbing trees. Consult your local arborist about their tree-climbing plan if your service requires that type of task.
