"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Small jobs welcome

"Thomas, is the absolute greatest! We're a small non-profit organization. We are are Children's Theater camp and were in desperate need of a new stage for our production. Thomas, donated his time and in two (2) hours or less, rebuilt our stage! The children will now be ready to put on a performance of a life-time! Thomas was extremely personable, professional and an overall delight to work with. Mere words aren't enough to convey our heart-felt gratitude and appreciation for Thomas and his work. His work speaks for itself. He is a top-notch guy with a heart of gold. We would recommend him for all of your woodworking needs. Thomas, was truly a gift from God and we couldn't be more pleased."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Exceptional attention to detail. Did not rush, but did not expect job to take 5 days. End result is beautiful. Painting crew highly skilled. Responded to several mid-project requests. Did not arrive on time once but communicated early and often. Would recommend and would hire again. Cleanup at end of project was good."

"One the the few great experiences I’ve had with a contractor. Scott was professional determined to fix the problem. He was not just trying to get paid. He recommended solutions rather than complaining. He was so patient. The job required a second visit and he never said anything that wasn’t relevant to fixing the problem. No excuses. Wonderful experience."

The pro you need to hire to build your shed depends on the shed you purchase. A local handyman or general contractor can help build a prefab shed for you. However, if you’re looking for a custom shed, contacting a shed builder near you is the best option. Make sure you get quotes from 3 pros to decide on the best pro for your job.

No, you do not usually tip a carpenter for their work. However, if you’ve been very happy with the level of service and quality of work, a 10% to 20% tip would likely be accepted with thanks. If you’re not sure, it can help to discuss the carpenter’s policy or preference for tipping before beginning the project.

Most contractors do not charge for meetings, but it can depend on the project, mainly if it includes detailed consultations or project planning. For general estimates, homeowners shouldn't expect to be charged. Always ask up front about meeting fees to avoid surprises and ensure you know what’s included in the process.

Some states require carpenters to be licensed to perform forms of carpentry, such as framing. The license requires a certain amount of experience and to pass an examination. In states that don’t require carpenters to be licensed, they must be licensed as a contractor if they work independently rather than solely as a subcontractor under a licensed builder. Use Angi’s contractor licensing tool to find out whether a potential carpenter is licensed in your state.

Yes, Corian® and other solid surface materials can be cut with standard woodworking tools, such as a circular saw or a jigsaw. However, it is crucial to use the correct type of blade to avoid damaging the material.

For a circular saw, a tungsten carbide-tipped blade is required; a triple chip grind blade is highly recommended. For a jigsaw, you should use a fine-tooth down-cutting blade. Do not use blades designed for cutting wood, as they can cause microfractures that weaken the edges of the countertop. A diamond blade is also unnecessary, as those are designed for harder materials like natural stone, which Corian is not.

After cutting, the edge will be rough. It is essential to sand and smooth the cut edge to prevent microfractures, which can eventually compromise the integrity of the countertop.
