"I had them clear a few acres of raw land. Tree service was closest fit. They came w nice equipment for doing the job and the young man worked tirelessly all day. Cleared and flattened a couple of acres and cut driveways. It was fun to watch the mulcher chew thru the scrub and brambles. Nice folks. Iâ ll be calling them again for more work soon. Highly recommend them!!"

"I am very pleased with the work BG’s did for us. I told Gary that my lawn had overgrown since our last man moved away. He came out promptly and did his assessment and was very fair with his pricing. I decided on a major cleanup to start and then biweekly Maintanence of the lawn. The cleanup was excellent which included trimming cutting and blowing. They also do shrubbery day small trees. As a bonus, they even hauled away an old fridge I had in the garage! I highly recommend BG’s Lawn Care. They are friendly and customer service oriented. I am looking forward to working with them on future projects. Philip M"

"This company was exceptional. They came out gave me an estimate and within a day they were on site working. The work was timely and all debris was nicely removed. They even raked and removed the leaves that fell from the cut trees."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If you’re taking down a tree that you don’t suspect is affected by disease or pests and it’s nowhere near your home or other structures, then calling in a tree company should work fine. However, anything more involved means an arborist is a better option. These pros have years of experience with tree removal and can safely take down trees located next to structures, and they have the tools, sanitization equipment, and experience to remove sick or dying trees without infecting nearby trees.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.

Costs range from $500 to $5,000 per tree, depending on size, location, and accessibility.

Planting a palm tree close to your home can provide shade while elevating the beauty of your yard. However, there are a few safety concerns to consider before doing so. You’ll want to opt for a smaller tree with a non-invasive root system. Select a species that won’t grow too tall and choose a planting location that won’t damage your home.
