"My project was chimney inspection and sweeping. The team that performed the service was professional and efficient. They arrived on time, surveyed the situation, worked well together, communicated to me what they had done when finished, and went the extra mile to leave my house better than they found it -- excellence all around -- thanks! (BTW, the survey format did not offer answers in the drop-down menu to match my project accurately. The fireplace did not need repair, but that's the closest response I could find. It would be helpful to include "other" or some such alternative, and let this "what else" box serve to provide more precise information.)"

Small jobs welcome

"Jeremiah came out and tested the air and moisture and other items to determine if I had mold in my basement. After getting the test results there was evidence of mold and he recommended a company that provides a do it yourself kit for mold remediation. (Not cheap). After getting the items and realizing that there was more work, it would have been better for me to let my insurance company handle this as I do have coverage for mold/fungi. Though having a professional do the work is expensive, from what Jeremiah mentioned, it does not guarantee that the work will be complete or the source of the problem taken care of. He mentioned most companies will take care of the mold but not necessarily the cause of the mold. For this I would have to contact another company."

"His service is superb. I have used his service several times now and he gets the job done in a timely manner. I have never had to wonder or call to see how long it would take to get the inspection report back. My customers are satisfied and so am I."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

According to the EPA, mold allergies are common and can cause skin irritation, respiratory problems, headaches, and other allergic reactions. Mold allergies can also trigger asthma attacks in people with asthma. Additionally, some molds produce mycotoxins, which can lead to very serious conditions, like lung cancer.

Humidity, moisture, and a lack of ventilation can all cause mold to grow on surfaces in and around your home.

Yes, a one-time water leak can cause mold. Depending on the conditions, mold can begin to grow within 12 to 48 hours. The risk increases with the severity of the leak, high humidity, and when water soaks into absorbent materials like drywall. To prevent mold growth, stop the leak immediately and ensure the area is dried completely; running a blower fan for 24 hours is recommended. If you do notice mold, it's best to call a mold removal specialist to address the situation.

Not necessarily. If the mold is only on the surface or in small areas, you may be able to clean it effectively without removing all the caulk. However, if the mold has deeply penetrated the caulk or the caulk is damaged or deteriorating, you should remove the caulk completely and replace it to ensure thorough mold removal and prevent future growth.

The time it takes to remove mold from under silicone caulk depends on the severity of the mold infestation and the cleaning method used. The cleaning process itself can take a few hours, including the time needed for cleaning agents to sit and work on the mold. If re-caulking is required, additional time will be needed for removing old caulk, applying new caulk, and allowing it to cure, which can take up to 24 hours.
