"Bryan Sparks and Jeremy did the work well that Bryan quoted the price on. They also sealed around the base of the chimney and patched some holes in the stucco of the chimney and sealed around the top of the chimney where the nails had backed out. It has rained several times since the repairs on February 7, 2023 and I have checked for leaks in the attic and there are none. I have viewed the top of the gutter where the guards were installed (no ladder) and I can not see any build up of leaves or pine needles!!!! This peace of mind upgrade was well worth the cost of having him do the work. I do not have to concern myself about cleaning out the gutters ever so often. Anyone who has gutters should consider the kind of stainless steel gutter guards he put on mine. Yes, they were a bit more expensive but in the long run; it was well worth the extra money!!! When they cleaned out the gutters, they put the trash in a bag instead of just throwing it on the grass. I appreciate that thoughtfulness. Alexander Lee Pearl, MS 39208"

"The receptionist took the call and told me to expect a all from the technician. He called back immediately to set up an appointment. Greg was quick and professional. "Very professional. Considerate of my needs and time. He reported for the viewing and estimate as scheduled and his crew were on time and finished the job as scheduled. The cost of the project was fair and the job was professionally done. The crew policed the work area and we never discussed the matter. I recommended Pete’s gutters to my neighbors."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

It’s technically possible to remove some soffit material without removing your gutters, but it’s usually a good idea to remove gutters, fascia, and soffit and then reinstall them in the opposite order. Replacing soffits without removing gutters is likely to leave you with a less professional and clean appearance, and you’re more likely to do damage to your gutters and fascia boards in the process.

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.

When you need to repair your galvanized gutters from leaks and caulk isn’t doing the job, you can solder your gutters with a roofer’s soldering iron. First, you’ll need to clean your gutters thoroughly with a wire brush and remove rust and oxidized paint. Next, you’ll make weld points on the gutter and solder over the connection until it’s completely smooth. You can also hire a roofing company near you to tackle this project.

Water should not be dripping behind your gutters. Rain dripping between your gutters and the fascia might indicate that the gutters are misaligned with the fascia board or there are loose screws in the gutters, allowing water to pass through. Start by checking for these issues and make repairs ASAP.

If you don't want to install gutter guards, the most common and inexpensive alternative is regular gutter cleaning, either annually, biannually, or as soon as they start to fill up. Using a leaf blower attachment can make this process easier. Other products designed to reduce cleanings include gutter screens (made of wire mesh, nylon, or foam), which are typically less expensive than a full gutter guard installation. You can also find guards and inserts designed specifically to protect your downspouts or opt for a whole gutter system like LeafGuard, which integrates the gutter and guard into a single product.
