Yes, you can use Epsom salt in a refinished bathtub. The salt will not harm the new glaze finish chemically, although it may rough up the surface finish a bit. Consult a professional bathtub refinisher prior to using Epsom salt on your bathtub to ensure it won’t damage its finish.

Refinishing a bathtub takes about two to four hours, but let the surface set for another 24 to 48 hours before using it again. Once it's set, your tub should last for 10 years or more. When buying caulk, look for ones labeled for tub and tile. These have either acrylic latex or silicone compounds. This allows the caulk to stick to smooth surfaces and prevent mildew from forming.
