"Mr Phillips has mounted 3 tvs inside my house. He's very skilled and knows what he's doing plus he's a clean worker he didn't have a mess all over the room . I would hire him any day. Keep up the good work"
"It took them 2 times to reschedule and there was a delay of about 3 weeks from estimate to finished job but most of that delay was related to weather conditions that would have interfered with the job. They were prompt in contact and responsive to my phone calls regarding changes. The finished job, seems very well done and I was able to be here for the whole job and watch in detail. They were able to coordinate with my plumber who was installing a new hot water heater at the same time. They were right on time at 8 am and called me 30 minutes prior to arrival to let me know they were in route and they worked really hard all day. This is a chimney job so involved a lot of dust and I would have liked better protection from dust and a better clean up (I had to Shop Vac various sites they worked in and clean up my floors from tracked dirt). It was not a cheap job but the liner itself is expensive, it's hard, dirty work, needed to be done properly and I watched it and know it was not easy. There is a warranty on parts and labor. Bottom line, Chris Hunt and his crew were polite, punctual, worked hard all day long, knew what they were doing, completed chimney work, masonry, and mechanical venting and I would recommend them for this sort of job. My experience with the larger company, the Fireplace Doctor, is that it is spread out across the East Coast and that the crew that shows up for your job is a bit of random chance and so work quality may vary some. As to price, this is far more than a chimney cleaning so I cannot really make comparisons to other similar companies. "
It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors.
Fire and electronics typically don't mix, but that doesn't mean you can't mount your TV on a brick fireplace. However, you should proceed with caution. If you do not use your fireplace regularly, you can be assured that your TV will remain undamaged. However, if you do take advantage of it, be aware that hot air, containing soot, will travel upwards. Even with the flue fully open, the temperature above the fireplace can still get very high.
Yes, you can mount a TV on a brick wall as a DIY project. This process requires specific tools, such as a masonry drill and masonry bits, as a regular power drill is not sufficient for drilling into dense surfaces like brick. You will need to drill mounting holes directly into the bricks, not the mortar, to ensure there is enough support for the weight of the TV and its bracket. After drilling, use large plastic wall anchors or concrete screws to securely attach the TV mount.
Do not install a TV above an active fireplace or wood-burning stove because of excess heat and temperature fluctuations. Another place that can be tricky for electronics is the bathroom, where moisture can be a factor. If you choose to mount a TV in these areas, you should find a weather-resistant appliance.
The cost to have a TV professionally mounted typically ranges from $160 to $360, with a national average of about $260. This price is for labor and does not include the TV mount itself. Several factors can affect the final cost, including the size of the TV and the type of mount used; for example, a fireplace mount costs more than an under-cabinet one. If you want to hide the wires within the wall, the price can increase significantly, potentially to $1,000 or more. For an accurate estimate, it is best to contact a local TV mounting service.
