"Had an excellent experience with NA Tree Service. Nathan came to the house to provide an estimate for the work to be done, and he came back the next day and completed the tree removal project in an efficient, timely matter and at a reasonable cost for the work done. Would recommend NA Tree Service for any tree work you may need done."

"I have lived for 19 years on a lot with increasing shade and have gone from a great Bermuda yard to sparse grass with reduced sunlight and wanted to try Palisades zoysia. I called David for advice and he felt this grass should do well in my situation. He gave me a job price which based upon the cost of sod I felt to be fair. The sod was delivered and David and his crew were on the job the next day as promised. David is a nice man and his crew are likewise. The work was done efficiently, I have watered with discipline and now it is up to Mother Nature. Three weeks plus have passed and it is doing well at this point in time. David and I have planned some work for my backyard and I would certainly recommend Hatchie Tree Service for your needs."

"This company was exceptional. They came out gave me an estimate and within a day they were on site working. The work was timely and all debris was nicely removed. They even raked and removed the leaves that fell from the cut trees."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Carefully pruning small roots no thicker than three inches in diameter won’t harm the tree. However, cutting larger roots may impact the tree's stability and nutrient absorption. It's advisable to consult an arborist or tree care professional to evaluate the root's size, the tree's health, and the potential impact of cutting. Proper tree pruning techniques and timing can minimize damage, but larger root removal may necessitate expert guidance to avoid compromising the tree's overall health and stability.

Ideally, you should wait to prune until trees have gone dormant in late fall to early winter. The worst times to prune trees are early fall and late summer, as pruning them so close to dormancy makes it difficult for the tree recover before it goes dormant for the season.

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

Dead tree branches should be removed, because they can cause the tree to lose nutrients. They can also make the tree more susceptible to disease and pests. Removing dead and diseased branches can help the tree recover and increase the odds of saving a dying tree. Make sure to prune the tree correctly to avoid damaging it further.

You can use the formula mentioned earlier to calculate the depth of tree roots. Each inch of width of a tree trunk translates to six inches of depth within the root system. Large trees extend anywhere from 2 to 6 feet into the ground, with some magnificent specimens going even deeper.
