I wouldn't want to recommend them for anybody. They had to put it down three times. They still haven't finished it. It was the worst experience I have ever had out of a contractor. You can see sand marks and have cracks in the floor between the floors. They only have one coat of polyurethane.

However, OSB isn’t the best option for heavy flooring types like ceramic tile or stone. It’s also worth noting that regular moisture exposure will drastically reduce any subfloor's life span.

There are many types of carpet, but nylon carpet with short loops tends to be the most durable type as it resists stains and holds up against wear and fading. In terms of longevity, frieze or Berber carpet are also excellent choices that can last up to 20 to 25 years, which is longer than most other types of carpet.

In order to avoid long-lasting waves, indents, or sticking, it’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after fresh carpet is laid to put weighty furniture on top of it. However, you can begin walking on your new carpet right after it’s installed, and doing so can actually help it adhere to the floor better.

If the stairs are already covered in carpet, you will need to remove the old carpet and possibly the carpet pad. Any damage to the stairs like cracks, loose boards, or creaky treads may also need to be repaired. You may also want to sand and refinish or paint wood stairs before installing a carpet runner.

Cork floors last up to 40 years with proper maintenance, which includes sealing the floors every two or three years and cleaning up any spills as soon as possible. If you have pets, your cork floors may not last as long. While cork can last decades, warranties on cork flooring offer limited coverage for 5 to 25 years.
