Meanwhile, we had two professional roofers to inspect the roof -- Mr. Bryan Cade, of Madison, MS, and Mr. Robert
Landers, of Greenville, MS. Both suggested that the roof was unsalvageable and
recommended replacing the existing roof. Mr. Robert Landers told my sub-contractor, Roosevelt Fleming, that we had told Steven Cantu that the roof needed replacing in the past. This statement goes to show that Steve Cantu actually knew that the roof was un-repairable, but did not disclose this information to us, the buyer. And Mr. Bryan Cade provided us with documentation of why the roof was unsalvageable. Cost of repair to the roof was estimated to be $64,000.
Then on October 10, 2013, a sewer line on the property burst. The cost of the repair was $650. In a text message dated October 11, 2013, Steven Cantu agrees that the repair is included in the warranty and agrees to pay for the repair out of his escrow account. But in letter dated December 2, 2013, Michael Prewitt, his attorney, refuses to pay for the repair citing that the case is being handled by another attorney.
On October 31, 2013, upon returning home, I found that the laundry room of the house was flooded secondary to a
major roof leak. My husband again contacted Steven Cantu via text message about the roof since the home was still under warranty. Mr. Cantu initially stated he would need to discuss the matter with his attorney Josh Bogan, but then later told us to contact Josh Bogan. Contact with Josh Bogan was arduous, tiring, and a game. Mr. Bogan?s initial reply was that Steven Cantu was suing us because of unpaid contracted work done to our home. This allegation was completely false. Then he stated that we could no longer contact Mr. Cantu. Josh Bogan then stated he would only speak to an attorney about this case. And at that point we enlisted the services of an attorney to communicate with Josh Bogan. Between a lot of un-returned telephone
calls and foolish accusations, Josh Bogan informed our attorney that we needed to sue Steven Cantu because Steve Cantu refuses to pay for any of the problems associated with this house.
Also in late October 2013, when the outside temperature changed, we noticed that a very cold draft was coming through the range top. The outside air is pulled into the house. We contacted a contractor but decided to delay the cost of repair because the contractor would have had to remove the range top to inspect the cause of the draft. But we both know that the cause is something Steven Cantu did incorrectly. The amount of outside air that comes into the house is so much so that it takes the oven 20 minutes to heat to 350 degrees.
Now on today, February 5,2014, the kitchen under mounted-sink literally separated from the countertop,
falling into the cabinet. Which concluded with water flooding and warping the wood floors in the kitchen
