"I contacted Perez Masonry and he came out the next day to provide an estimate for continuing an existing wall separating the carport from the patio. That was on a Saturday morning. By Monday morning at 7:00 am the crew was hard at work and finished within a couple of hours. The work was excellent, price was reasonable and I definitely will hire for future projects."

"I recently hired Fernandez Construction to pour a patio, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From start to finish, their communication was excellent—they were always timely and clear in their updates. The team delivered exactly what they promised and completed the job quickly without compromising on quality. The new patio looks fantastic, and I highly recommend Fernandez Construction for any concrete work. Great job!"

"Ivy Construction has the ability to make your vision happen. Also, very hard to find people whom stand behind their work or will make it right regardless of profits. Very, Very hard to find people with their word is their bond. Hire them and you will appreciate the work ethic and finished product."

Patios questions, answered by experts

A solarium is a luxury addition to a home and can be an excellent breakfast area or reading space, but that doesn't mean there aren't disadvantages. For one, since the room is made of glass it can look dirty very quickly. Another disadvantage is solariums are notoriously hard to balance temperature and will most likely significantly increase your heating and air conditioning bill. Unlike a greenhouse addition to a house, a solarium won’t help you grow as many plants.

If you’re trying to decide between a sunroom and a screened-in porch, the right choice will depend on your priorities. A screened-in porch costs only a fraction of the price of a sunroom, but in exchange, it has much more limited use. A sunroom will add more value to your home, but at a much higher up-front cost and longer construction timeline.

Sustainable materials and energy-efficient designs support greener construction options.

Yes, it can be worth screening a porch if you live in an area with beautiful weather, since it allows you to enjoy your outdoor space longer in the spring and summer. The additional protected space may even attract more prospective buyers if you intend to sell—especially if you add seasonal features, like a ceiling fan for summer or a heater to winterize your screened porch.

Yes, adding a sunroom can increase your home's value, with a return on investment (ROI) ranging from 20% for a screen room to 50% for a three- or four-season room. The amount of value added depends on the design. Fully insulated, temperature-controlled four-season sunrooms add the most value as they can be included in the home's total living space. In contrast, simpler structures like Arizona rooms or solariums typically have a lower return as they don't count as legal living space. A high-quality sunroom can also be an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially those who enjoy gardening. The value may also be higher in warmer climates where this feature is more sought after. When deciding, consider both the potential resale value and the personal value you will get from using the room.
