"this is the 4th project that I have used Foundation Recovery Systems for to repair my basement walls and the work is always spot on. On this project it was more wall anchors and Devon Brown and his crew did excellent work and were very informative about the work they were doing. They drove on very icy roads for three to four hours to get to my home."

"
        •        Frank's team at Advanced Foundation Repair and Replacement identified that my cracked basement wall and fireplace foundation had settled 1 1/2" along one side of my home, and needed 12 piers installed to lift and stabilize the foundation to prevent further cracking.    Frank provided a competitive estimate for pier jacking, based on other pier jacking I had had done on a front porch and laundry room slab, but he used a far more sophisticated technology than the other company I had used in the past.
        •        They first removed a 560 sq foot cedar deck, then excavated with a Bobcat down to the base of the foundation wall.   The gentleman running the excavator operated with surgical precision, leaving a clean wall and trench for the next phase.   They preserved the shrubs I wanted saved, and the only ancillary damage was a pinched gas line for my bbq, which Frank had repaired immediately after the job was completed.   My wife was impressed that they salvaged the deck boards and reused them for roof joists on another project, and salvaged the old bricks from an underlying brick patio and provided them to another who needed a patio but could not afford bricks.
        •       The pier jacking involved driving 12 heavy steel pipes down to the solid subground (not down to bedrock) using a hydraulic press, then using those same presses and hydraulic rams to lift the foundation of the home 1 1/2 inches when all of the pipes were in place.  They then bolted and welded the pipes to the lifting flanges, making the lift permanent, and cut off the excess pipe.  The team brought in a Bobcat front loader to backfill the excavation after putting a waterproof sealant on the outside of the exposed basement wall, again operating it with surgical precision.
        •       Through the entire process, Frank and his team communicated what they were doing, and met the schedule that they had proposed.   The site was left very clean, with all of the debris removed and the area of the lawn that was covered with excavated debris was scraped clean and ready for reseeding.
        •       Frank was very responsive to my questions throughout the process, and left me with no surprises.   I wholeheartedly recommend Advanced Foundation Repair and Replacement for any foundation work needed.

"They did an excellent job on repairing the foundation and it stopped the leak. The sidewalk they tried to lift with foam did not do so well. To their credit, they are coming back to make it right and they are going to replace the sidewalk. They even went above and beyond and because of that, we would definitely recommend them."

"The service i received from Greggs Foundation repair was outstanding. They installed a sump as well as a new drain to prevent my basement from flooding. I needed help and i needed it fast. I sent them a last minute message on their Facebook page, they showed up the same day and went to work. "I had a great experience with Dry Basement. The estimator Curtis was extremely knowledgeable, clean cut, friendly, and straight forward. He arrived right on time and got to work. He reviewed my situation with laser measuring equipment and had a written estimate for me on the spot. We agreed on a price for the work and scheduled my repair for their next available slot, three weeks later, on December 11, 2014. I received a call from their office staff two days before the scheduled work, to remind me of my appointment and their estimated arrival time. The crew of four guys showed up right on time and got straight to work. The foreman, Alvin, was great and worked just as hard as every other guy on the crew, and these were about the hardest working guys I've ever seen in my life. Everyone was super friendly (my Labrador retriever vetted each of them and approved). It was a wet, sloppy day outside, and they put plastic down on my carpeted floors and stairs to keep things tidy. They installed 10 u-channel braces in the basement to shore up my slightly bowing foundation (just under 2" of inward bowing), and secured it to 8 yards of concrete - that's 32,000 pounds worth - in the yard. The cracks inside were sealed with polyurethane. They finished the job in one day, as promised, and cleaned everything up when they were done. In fact my basement was cleaner when they left than when they showed up. I would definitely hire these guys again, though I don't plan on having to, since from the looks of things this house isn't going anywhere. HIGHLY recommended."

"These guys are awesome. They exposed the wall on both sides and moved my foundation back into place, then waterproofed the outside. They even dug it out by hand so they didn’t ruin my landscaping. Most of my drywall was salvageable, making it relatively inexpensive to replace and refinish."

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

Ensures structural stability and long-term safety of the building.

Whether you need a permit for foundation repair depends on your location and the scope of the work. Major repairs like foundation stabilization typically require a building permit, while smaller projects such as sealing non-structural cracks or applying waterproofing solutions often do not. It's crucial that your contractor follows all local building codes, as an inspector will review the work to ensure it's up to standard. Failing to obtain the necessary permits can create issues when selling your home and may lead to further damage if the work is not done correctly. Your foundation repair specialist will usually know if a permit is needed and can handle the process for you. You can also contact your local building department or municipal office to confirm the requirements and verify that your contractor has filed the appropriate paperwork.

In most cases, yes, homeowners insurance will cover burst pipes, even if they run through your foundation. Not only that, but most home insurance companies will also cover any foundation repair you need done that resulted from the plumbing leak because your insurer will view the leak as an unforeseen and non-preventable issue.

Foundation cracks that are 1/8 inch wide or less, aren’t uneven across the gap, and don’t continue widening over time are usually just normal settling cracks and don’t suggest structural issues. Horizontal cracks and stair-step cracks on foundation walls, any cracks that continue widening, are wider than 1/8 inch, or where one side juts out beyond the other, are often indicative of structural damage.

It depends on the bank and the extent of the issue. Some banks will lend against homes with minor foundation damage, but most won’t if the issue is structural since the home acts as collateral for the mortgage. Banks that offer renovation loans might still finance a home with structural problems. More minor issues like settling cracks and intermittent problems with humidity are unlikely to stop a bank from financing.
