"I would not hire JP Frisch again. The handyman who was sent to my home arrived one hour late. He was friendly and seemed to complete all of the projects without a problem, but after he left, I looked more closely at the painting in the bathrooms and was extremely disappointed. It was extraordinarily sloppy. Some areas were not completely covered. He didn't tape any of the edges, so there was paint on the bathroom tile, on the medicine cabinet, on the towel racks, on the ceiling, and on the door frames. When I complained, the owner never apologized, but agreed to send someone to fix the problem. No one showed up for that appointment. When I contacted the owner, he said that the handyman didn't have my address. We made another appointment and that time, the handyman did show up. It took him more than three hours to fix all of the painting mishaps. Last week, after less than one month, the storm door closer became damaged again. When I hired another handyman to fix the problem (which JP Frisch refused to fix), he explained that the door's closer had broken because it had been installed with extremely short screws, rather than long screws that would keep the closer secure and fixed in place. Thanks a lot, JP Frisch! There's no way I'd hire JP Frisch again. What a terrible experience!"

"Working with Beaty Home Improvements was an excellent experience for us. Everyone is so busy these days. I called three possible handyman companies, and Josh from Beaty was the only one that even called me back. Josh was super responsive and kindly found a place to work us into their schedule. A recent storm had knocked one of our 2nd story shutters down and we had a floodlight bulb that was high up that had burned out. I don't have a ladder to reach those areas, so I elected to try and find someone to take care of those items for us. To make the most of their time coming out, I also decided to go ahead and have them remove our old kitchen sink and install a new one for us while they were here. During the project I elected to go ahead and have a new disposal installed as well. Josh scheduled Kris for the work, and Kris arrived a few minutes early for the job. Kris quickly and creatively worked to resolve any little challenges encountered during the job, and he worked diligently to complete the tasks in a timely manner. He was a pleasure to chat with while he was here, and I am very pleased with the quality of his work and the care he put into it. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
Handymen/contractors will charge anywhere from $50 to $175 per hour. The hourly rate is based upon their experience level, overhead costs, and the cost of living in that specific area. Many handymen/contractors will charge by the job.
Tipping a handyman is not a requirement or necessarily expected, as they should build a fair wage into the price of the job.
