"I contracted for this service (16 hours of labor) in mid-May 2015. I did a quick walk-around with a company representative and provided a detailed list of tasks to be done, mostly weeding and cutting back of plants in beds around the house and yard and trimming some low-growing tree limbs that were projecting into our parking area. The service could not be scheduled until the second week of June due to the contractor's schedule. Once the crew finally came out, they did a very nice job, including cutting back some very overgrown and thorny rose bushes. Weeds were hand-pulled for the most part, and bed borders were nicely edged. In general, there was a lot of satisfying attention to detail from the crew. The labor was slightly over the contracted 16 hours; I'm waiting to see the final tally. The only other point I would add is that I asked a couple of times about spraying our brick walks with herbicide and purchasing and spreading new mulch for some of the beds, but this was not done on the day of the service. I brought it up again when I saw that it wasn't getting done, and they will be back out in the coming week. "
"Scheduling was great, an appointment was made immediately and the contractor arrived on the day scheduled. After that problems started. The contractor mowed my lawn while raining and I had piles of wet grass left on my lawn. When the grass dried I had a big mess. The dead grass also killed areas of my lawn. I contacted customer service, forward photos and they rectified that problem by sending someone out to recut my lawn. I was willing to give them another chance. I scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance. The day I was due to have lawn mowed I received an email that it had been reschedule for the next day. The next day no one showed nor did I receive a call nor email at which point I terminated services. This is not a reliable business."

It never hurts to ask a lawn care professional if their prices are negotiable, but generally, they aren’t. However, you might be able to negotiate a deal on bundled services from the same lawn care service. Consider talking to your lawn mowing service provider about discounts on other services, like tree removal, leaf removal, snow removal, or weeding.
No, you don’t need to edge your lawn every time you mow it, but you can if that’s your preference. Some homeowners edge their lawns weekly, every other week, monthly, or at the start of a new season (more likely for those with landscaping material like brick, plastic, or metal edging). It’s up to you how often you edge, and it depends on how quickly your grass grows and how crisp you want your edge lines to be.
Yes, it's perfectly safe and environmentally sound to mulch leaves with a lawn mower, provided that the layer of leaves isn't too thick and the leaves are dry and crispy. Too many wet leaves get sticky and will clog the mower. Thick layers of leaves can suffocate the lawn after the leaves have been mulched, so the layer should be no more than six inches thick.
In many cases, it’s a good idea to water St. Augustine grass daily to keep the soil moist and the grass thriving. It’s drought-tolerant, but it’s always best to keep it watered. However, it’s also important not to overwater, so skip watering during wetter conditions and aerate your lawn to promote proper soil drainage.
St. Augustine is a hardy grass that’s relatively easy to grow, but it requires regular lawn maintenance to stay healthy. It’s best to keep up with a regular fertilization schedule during the growing season, plus a yearly dethatching to help it properly absorb air and moisture. Watering is also important, so be sure to water it enough to keep the soil moist.
