"I give Mr Schneider an A+ for communication and willingness to do the job but during negotiating about the job I found that my neighbor had a background in what the project entailed and I decided to go with his services. I like to deal with someone as courteous and punctual as Schneider Excavating and hope to do business with them in the future."

"Bullseye Excavating, is a class act companyif anyone is looking to have a pond dug, I highly recommend this Company. BILL came and looked at my pond sight, and instantly told me by the lay of the land that my pond could be larger if I wanted so , I told Bill I would like it to be as large as possible. Bill and his crew designed a beautiful pond for me with a small spring fed po.d feeding the larger acre and half pond. I could not be any happier! Thank you Bill,Grandpa, and Kevin! I"

Small jobs welcome

"My backyard was sloped and he graded it and add rock in an area. Also, removed large rocks from my back yard. Very happy with the work that was done that I had him to odd carpenter jobs too."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Hardscaping often requires preparation of the ground in the area where the feature is being installed. This can include digging, compacting, and leveling the soil, ensuring adequate drainage, and removing any existing plants. The extent of preparation needed will depend on the type and size of the hardscaping feature being installed.

No, a ditch isn’t a trench. A ditch is an open, relatively shallow channel that’s carved out of the ground and used for drainage purposes. In contrast, a trench is a deeper excavation that’s entirely underground. Trenches have many uses, including gas lines, sewage systems, and electrical wiring. Unlike trenches, ditches don’t get filled back in with dirt after they’re dug.

Yes. A metal detector is one of the quickest and easiest ways to find your septic tank. However, metal detectors can be too expensive (costing upward of $300 in some cases), and not everyone has a metal detector just lying around. If that’s the case for you, you can also take a long metal rod and poke it into the ground at regular intervals until you hit something—likely your septic tank lid.

Excavation is priced in cubic yards, so you’ll need to find the volume of the area in order to calculate costs. Multiply the length, width, and proposed depth of your excavation site, then convert it into yards to get the volume. Multiply this figure by the price per cubic yard.

Most homeowners can measure by hand to get a rough estimate, even if it’s tedious. You may want to pull out a tape measure or use a string to help mark the area.

Depending on the severity of the freeze and the method used, thawing frozen underground pipes can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. Applying heat directly to the pipe using heat tape, infrared lamps, or hot water jetting can speed up the process. However, patience and careful monitoring are key to avoiding pipe damage.
