"Mayo plumbing is amazing! We called John for a leak from our main water line in our basement. He rearranged his schedule to fit us in & didn’t leave until the job was done. He was able to fix the leak with a less invasive method than what another plumbing company we had already contacted quoted us. Many thanks to John! If we ever need plumbing work again, he will be our only call!"

"James was punctual, extremely fastidious, kept me informed of progress, did a beautiful job of re-glazing and re-caulking and cleaned up without any residual mess. He explained and gave me written instructions for care of the new surface. I will ask specifically for him when reglazing of another bathtub."

"The tech was friendly and got to work right away and the job looked pretty good when he left.
Unfortunately with the other bathroom remodeling I have not used the tub much.  I did spill some tile cleaner on it and it left permanent dots in the finish and I did scrape it with a piece of wood already which shows.  Time will tell how well the refinish will hold up.

"I started the process of re-doing my kitchen last May, and now I have an absolutely beautiful kitchen.  The designer worked with me to get just what I wanted for the kitchen.  She was honest and forthcoming, and listened to my needs.  She got me through all of the decisions (and there are a LOT of decisions) with patience!  After measuring, the designer turned us over to the project manager who must be the best ever found.  They knew just what needed to be done in what order to create the kitchen I have.  Work people came promptly, and when I expected them.   Everyone was polite and helpful, and performed their individual jobs with skill.  I never felt as though they forgot me, or were avoiding me.  The contractor was always a phone call away and he too was great.  He explained things (probably multiple times) and responded to my needs. I was impressed!  And, I am not an easy woman to impress.  I love the outcome -- it is even better than I envisioned it.  I just want to look at it.
You need to be prepared for a long process... I spent a lot of time getting multiple bids and multiple views of my needs, not only on the kitchen itself, but also the appliances.  This takes much more time than you would expect.  Then everything needs to be ordered, and your job scheduled.  They tore out my cabinets on November 17, and I had the last city inspection on February 9.  Of course, there were 3 holidays in there to mess up scheduling, but it is a long time to be without a kitchen!  They must do things in a specific order and so it takes a while.  But, the various subcontractors worked together and coordinated quite well.  I cannot think of anything that troubled me in the process.

"I had called a national plumbing chain to unclog our stopped up kitchen sink. Our cold water pressure was very poor and we asked why. We were told that the master pressure valve for the house was faulty and needed replacing. We had to make another appointment to fix. Made the appointment for the hours between 8 and 10 Am. After two calls and it was now 3 PM, I cancelled the appointment. I called Handyman. He was there the next day, researched and found a simple valve clogged beneathe the sink and repaired. He showed me the clogged valve and explained all. For a very minimal charge and a professional job well done, we now have cold water pressure and a man we will use again. Thanks to Angie's list for finding him."

"I contacted several plumbers this day and Mr. Craig was the only one that returned my call. Once I told him the problem he told me a time and a price and he was there to fix the problem. I really appreciated the fact that he was on time and very professional. I would definitely be using this company again."

"Overall went well. Had an issue with the new garbage disposal installation. But on a return trip a few days later, the problem was fixed. No additional cost. Will definitely consider hiring again for other needed repairs around the house."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can replace just the top of a bathroom vanity, which you may choose to do if you love the look of your vintage bathroom cabinets, but the countertops are not your style. Fortunately, it is pretty simple to detach a vanity top from a base for replacement, but you should still shut off the water to avoid a leak. Replacing only the vanity top costs around $400 to $4,300.

Some of the most common plumbing repairs are certainly no small issues. The good news is that plumbers typically deal with these problems frequently and have the parts and tools ready to take care of them quickly and efficiently. These common problems include:

  • Clogged drains: $75–$250

  • Clogged toilet: $125–$300

  • Bathtub and shower: $100–$600

  • Faucet or showerhead: $200–$350

  • Sink pipe: $200–$500

  • Toilet repair: $150–$400

Silicone caulk—despite having some adhesive properties—is not the primary thing that holds your sink in place. Rather, it seals the gaps around the sink to prevent water from leaking and causing issues with mold and corrosion. Most sinks are secured by clips, though some sinks are secured with two-part epoxy or brackets.

The standard kitchen sink size is typically 22 inches by 30 inches. However, kitchen sinks are available in a wide range of sizes to fit different kitchens, commonly from 25 to 39 inches long, though you can find even larger or custom sizes. When choosing a replacement, the easiest option is to select a sink that matches your existing one's dimensions. If you decide to install a larger sink, you will need to enlarge the cutout in your countertop; be sure to use the template that comes with the new sink to ensure a proper fit. Installing a smaller sink can be more complex, as it may require replacing the entire countertop.

Yes, it’s necessary to have a sink drain stopper. While your sink will still work without a stopper, a stopper is necessary to keep things other than water from going down into your pipes and potentially clogging them. It prevents plumbing problems by keeping out unwanted debris and objects like hair, soap, toothpaste, dirt, and jewelry.
