Customers say: Quick response

"The air in our home feels cleaner. We are extremely pleased with the customer service, professionalism, and friendliness of this company. The before pictures shared with us were evident that the duct clean out was needed and the after pictures were amazing! My husband and I are hoping to see improvements in sinus issues, as well as allergies. Air duct man will be returning to do an additional treatment to purify air! Excellent experience!!!"

Hello, My Name is Johnathan Steele, Owner Operator of Show-Me Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning. I started my company with the intent to help and show transparency to my customers and to educate them to the best of my abilities on the system that keeps their Home Comfortable. Most Companies will come in to a house fix the issue then leave… That’s where we try and separate ourselves by finding the culprit, educating our customers on why it happened and how to prevent future problems. \n\nWe at Show-Me Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning take pride in our work, and if we wouldn’t do it in our house we wouldn’t do it to yours.

"They were very timely and professional. There was some confusion with the cost of the job....was quoted $35 per floor vent and understood the cold air vents were included....also two cold air vents that were back to back in two rooms I think were billed twice each.....so was expecting to pay about $555 for 13 vents but ended up being $630....none the less they did a great job and were very professional and we certainly will refer them."

"JC HVAC did a great job for my family. I would highly recommend for all your heating and cooling needs. Have done business with some BIG name businesses and mostly felt ripped off and no better off than before. Came out, worked hard, showed my son a few things, was polite and didn't over charge. Does business the way it should be!"

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Trick question: There is no difference between an AC and a furnace blower motor. Whether you have central air and heat or just one of these, the same blower motor carries hot and cold air throughout the ductwork in your home. Certain systems may have separate blower motors for the AC and furnace, but each serves the same function.

A few drips here and there should not be cause for concern, but if your unit is leaking a large amount of water, then it’s advised that you stop using it until the problem is identified and a solution is determined. The more you use it during a leak, the more issues it will cause.

There are many signs of a bad AC fan motor, including if the fan blades don’t spin when the AC kicks on or if they keep spinning when the AC is off. The AC fan cools down the condenser coil, so a faulty motor can also cause the system to overheat. Unusual noises in the exterior AC unit, including grinding or rattling sounds, may also be a sign that the AC fan motor is worn out.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, sets the standard guidelines for air changes per hour in homes and businesses. The International Residential Code, or IRC, also sets ACH requirements for residences and bases those requirements off of ASHRAE standards plus climate specifics related to your location.

If you know how to identify supply and return ducts, you’ll find that only the supply ducts will have dampers. Although your return ducts can have dampers, it’s not common. If you have one return duct that is pulling in too much air, adding a damper to it can help with overall system performance. However, dampers on return ducts are not a necessary addition for most homes.
