Small jobs welcome

"We have used JB Construction twice for remodeling projects! Our second project was a 10ft two-story addition on the back our house, mainly featuring a new master bathroom. They did a great job with this large project. Joe is often personally on-site working alongside his team, and his crew is consistent every day and very knowledgeable and friendly. Absolutely recommend!"

"We are so pleased with Dave’s work! Dave was most importantly, easy to communicate with, transparent and honest from the beginning all the way through to the end of the project. Dave and his subs were all respectful and did excellent work. Dave has a great eye for the finer details and their quality. My basement is transformed from a dark, creepy place that nobody wanted to be in, to a modern, bright and comfortable place for our family to spend time. I would hire again and recommend to everyone. He is trustworthy and his workmanship is excellent. We get tons of compliments. Thank you so much Dave!"

"We hired Bryan Casey Construction to finish our basement. They did quality work from the initial design and layout to the final touch ups. Each stage of the work was generally on time and the workers were professional and helpful. Julie was great to provide design consultation and kept us up to date on the project status. Bryan was on site to oversee pieces of the project, as needed. They were quick to fix any issues that were encountered along the way. We are very pleased with the end result and highly recommend the company!"

"My yard has never looked better, a friend recommended Imagine Restorations to me a few weeks ago, I called them and I find out that they are owned by a Dad and 2 sons, River and Ryan, who is can't brag on enough, super professional, on time and superb workmanship, they went over and beyond for us, we ended up going for a cedar picket shadow box fence, they even out bid a close friend of mine, they did all this in 2 days practically, the wood was delivered a day in a half late so they had to improvise, if you need a fence or need a fence repaired, call Ryan or River over at Imagine Restorations. RIVER- (816)598-7860 and RYAN (573)289-9721... you won't regret doing business with these guys."

"Working with Omni was great. From the bid to the final inspection, everyone coming into my home was kind, personable, respectful, and most importantly good at their jobs. John gave me a full written scope and helped me to see the possibilities in our 1954 basement with asbestos tile. In 5 weeks they transformed it into the basement of my dreams. I didn’t know it could look this good. The foreman walked us through each part of the transformation as it happened, so I know how everything works and that it was done right. I would definitely recommend them and will call them for future jobs."

"I can't say enough good about Shawn and his sons. Everyone of them are total professionals and experts in their craft. They finished my basement project from framing, thru sheet rock, plumbing, electrical to paint. I've already hired them for my next project. 100% recommend this family of fine men."

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

Create a checklist, reimagine the space use, set a realistic budget, choose materials and aesthetic details, and get professional support for guidelines and troubleshooting.

Egress windows or doors are required in finished basements to meet safety and building codes. If your basement is unfinished and used as a storage space, egress windows are not required, but anything considered a habitable space must have an additional point of egress in addition to the stairs.

Basements are commonly converted into game rooms. The potential challenges you may run into include controlling moisture, working with low ceilings, limited natural light, and the need for additional electrical or HVAC work. Addressing these issues can add to the total cost, but it ensures a comfortable and functional space.

Any bowing in a basement wall indicates a problem that needs to be addressed by a professional. If your basement wall bows more than 1 inch, it's time for an inspection. Generally, a wall can bow up to 30% of its thickness (around 2.5 inches for an 8-inch-thick wall) before it becomes an urgent situation. Bowing of 2 to 4 inches is more straightforward to fix than bowing of more than 4 inches, which will require significant repairs. If the bowing is more than 6 inches, the wall will likely need to be replaced. The sooner you address the problem, the easier and less expensive the repair will be.

Permits may be required for major repairs, structural work, or electrical and plumbing restoration after a flood. Check with your local building department to determine permit requirements and associated fees for your flooded basement cleanup project. Obtaining the correct permits helps ensure work is done safely and up to code.
