"Insulation guys were great but the windows are horrible. They let cold air in worse than our old windows. We called them and they finally came out and put a little strip of Insulation on them and they still let in cold air and whistle when the wind blows. We have called and left messages and no calls back. I wouldn't recommend Rolox windows to anyone. Paid around 1000$ per window and still cold air comes in. Never again."

For most systems, an annual HVAC system service is more than enough. Some homeowners prefer a twice-a-year visit to ensure the system is ready for the upcoming summer and winter seasons. You need to service an HVAC system about twice per year, with a service including an inspection and basic maintenance. If a geothermal heat pump is installed correctly, then you shouldn’t have to worry about having a backup heat source such as a furnace or oil boiler. However, there are geothermal systems installed that include a backup in case the heat pump fails due to extreme cold. This is simply a backup heat pump you’ll likely never need and not an alternative heat source.

It’s a better use of energy (and your money) NOT to run an ERV system all the time. Most experts recommend that you cycle your ERV system on and off throughout the year. However, the recommended advice could change based on your climate, the number of people in your home, the size and style of your home, and your heating and cooling system.
