"We have used services from Tree Wizard for many years and have always found their work to be of excellent quality. They make a visit before the work is done to discuss what you need and give you an estimate. We have used Tree Wizard for a variety of needs such as tree or limb removals after bad storms, trimming for the best shaping and health of trees or to get limbs away from the roof, advice on problems or diseases of trees or shrubs and how to treat them and replanting of new trees. Tree Wizard employees have been with the company long term, they know the trees in our area, they discuss any problems and what they will do and the cost with you thoroughly. They do an excellent job cleaning up after their work is finished, they keep your trees and yard healthy and attractive, and they are very professional and friendly. You can use them with great confidence."

"My tree was trimmed off the roof of my house the way I wanted , I had an added request of trimming limbs off my fence on the same tree and he took care of those while he was there as well. The brush and leaves were cleaned and raked, my yard looked the way it did before he got there. I would definitely use this tree service again and recommend to all friends."

"They removed 3 very large trees one was completely rotted out in the center. These trees were very close to my garage and the neighbors privacy fence. They was able to bring the trees down safely with no property damage. They also took down 4 smaller trees. The stumps were ground then dirt brought in, ground leveled, and grass planted. My yard is completely transformed. Great company great crew. Professional service."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Surface-level tree roots might only pose a small threat, such as being a tripping hazard or obstacle when you mow your lawn. But if mature tree roots start growing in the direction of your home’s foundation or plumbing system, it could be a real problem. Cutting small tree roots out before they grow too large can keep your home safe without removing the whole tree.

Consumers typically do not need to worry about the cost of tree insurance, as professional tree service companies pay for their own coverage. For a tree service business, an average U.S. policy covering about $1 million in general liability costs roughly $40 a month or $500 a year. More extensive policies, providing between $500,000 to $2 million in coverage, can cost between $3,000 and $6,000 annually, depending on the company's size and scope of work. Tree service professionals should speak with an insurance company to determine the right plan for their business.

If you’re wondering why tree trunks are painted white in your area, it’s usually to prevent sunscald, a condition where extreme shifts in temperature can cause tree bark to split. Fruit trees are especially vulnerable to sunscald, so this treatment is worth considering if it’s something that affects your trees.

If you’re buying a small tree with lots of room to grow, expect to pay around $100 to $200 for a potted version. But if you’re buying a larger tree—say one over 10 feet—prices rise, starting in the $500 to $600 range and increasing quickly from there. Keep in mind that paying for professional palm tree planting or transplanting services will increase the cost.

If an arborist is certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), the highest level of certification available is ISA Board Certified Master Arborist. According to the ISA, this credential is reserved for arborists “who have reached the pinnacle of their profession.” Check your arborist’s credentials before hiring to confirm their level of training and expertise.
