You may be able to paint a high ceiling without a ladder if you have an extension pole that reaches high enough. Some extension poles have telescoping handles, allowing you to adjust the pole's length without needing to swap it out. Another option is to use a scaffold to reach high areas.

While flat and satin finishes are ideal for garage or front doors, siding, and trim, gloss and semi-gloss are more common on shutters. If you painted one room that’s 11x32 feet (132 square feet), charging $5 per square foot would get you $660 in labor costs (132x5). You may also choose to charge extra for intricate work (such as baseboards or crown molding) or painting jobs done in complex locations. Then, you’ll need to charge for the materials used, including primer and paint, and tools like brushes, drop cloths, and ladders.  

While it may seem like a blind spot, if you don’t paint behind the toilet, the previous color will likely be visible once the rest of the bathroom has been repainted, especially if you’ve gone with a significantly different color palette. Additionally, not painting every part of the room at the same time means that you will have an older paint job behind your toilet that could be more susceptible to moisture damage.
