You may need to provide your own paint, depending on the agreement you make with the painter. Some painters prefer that you buy the paint and they supply the labor. For example, removing wallpaper costs an additional $3 per square foot because it can be very time consuming and labor intensive. Your location will also impact the hour rate.

First off, take a breath. The good news is that interior paint, especially when used outside, won’t harm your health. The bad news is that you’re going to have to reapply the proper exterior paint at some point in the not-so-distant future. Otherwise the current coat will chip, crack, and fade, or worse, develop mold or an insect infestation without remediation.

Because satin paint has a sheen to it, it will highlight curves and contours. While that’s great for trim, it’s not so excellent for your repaired drywall that has a few small blemishes. In addition, satin paint will stick to your surface better if it’s primed. Sand and prime your surface before applying satin paint for best results.

Sometimes you can get away with simply sanding and painting over small areas of peeling paint. However, the problem will likely return quickly, and the ridge between old and new paint will be visible. If you just need a quick fix and won't worry about appearance, chip away the peeling paint as much as possible, prime and paint the area, and skip the spackle step.
