"The team arrived during the time frame that had been given. They did the furniture removal carefully so as not to damage anything. They were able to take an additional item I'd decided I didn't want to keep. (There was an additional charge for this which I felt was reasonable and to be expected.) They were cordial and respectful. I would definitely hire them again for a removal. An A+ experience!"

"Jaurie and her team are phenomenal to work with. In just one afternoon we had dealt with a massive storage space : decluttered, disposed of unnecessary items and had so much junk hauled away, as well as organized the space efficiently. She has followed up since then with tips to maintain a clutter free space - and has come back to even haul more items away as we continue to deal with other spaces in our home. We are relieved, and impressed, and entirely grateful! Highly recommend!"

"Jordan showed up as scheduled. Called before coming and advised he was en route. As senior citizens, the task was to remove a treadmill from the garage and haul away. Jordan handled the heavy object himself onto his trailer with no problem. Very polite and professional. A Marine veteran. Thanked him for his military service."

Concrete Disposal questions, answered by experts

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.

Garbage disposals are durable appliances that usually last at least eight years as long as you clean and maintain them. It’s relatively rare for a garbage disposal to break on its own, as most malfunctions happen due to user errors, like overstuffing the grinding compartment or damaging the blades by trying to dispose of metal or bone. Eventually, cracks or leaks could develop in the unit, which requires a full replacement.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.
