"We were impressed they would travel to Lebanon, MO. They did an assessment of the Duct Cleaning and installation of a, iWave-R and gave us fair quote. Arrived promptly on the day of service. Explained what was to be done, approximate amount of time needed and it was all as stated. I was also appreciate of the assistance given to move a two larger items from under the vents. Would resoundingly recommend!"

"Jason came out late in the evening, checked my HVAC system, diagnosed the probable issue and my home has been cool since shortly after he left. Jason even promised to call to check on whether everything was still running properly - hence the 4 star rating, which is subject to be upgraded to a 5 star. I'm happy with his services and will gladly call on him again."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Many factors affect how much adding air conditioning will cost you, from the size of your home to the size, type, brand, and installation specifics of the system itself. Chances are, a new central air conditioning system for a 2,000-square-foot house will cost somewhere between $3,900 and $7,900 to install, with an average around $6,000

Aside from needing HVAC repair, there are times when you may need to replace your unit. HVAC replacement costs $5,000 to $12,500. Here are some telltale signs that your HVAC unit is going bad:

  • Your unit is 10 years or older.

  • Your home is very humid.

  • The unit keeps cycling without producing cool air.

  • You need to repair the unit frequently.

A 3-ton AC unit is probably too big for a home that’s 1,200 square feet. If you have a 1,200-square-foot home, you likely need a unit that’s somewhere around 1.9 and 2 tons. An AC unit that’s too large will be really inefficient and cost you a lot of extra money on your bills.

Freon will go in the refrigerant lines near the back of your AC unit. Look for small ports with caps on a thin copper line—the Freon goes into those ports. You are best off hiring a licensed HVAC professional who can complete the job safely and correctly.

If you’re planning an AC replacement, choosing an AC with a higher SEER rating may save you money in the long run. Tax credits could cover as much as 30% of the job, and you’ll notice smaller utility bills (particularly if you live in a hot climate where you need to constantly run the AC). Generally, you can expect to pay between $350 and $1,500 for each SEER rating increase. Weigh the cost against your typical utility bill to figure out what’s worth it to you.
