"It did not take long for us to know we made the perfect decision in choosing Harris Renovations for our bathroom remodel! Casey and Wendy both came to our home for the original consultation. The decision, in my mind, was made that day even prior to the estimate. We had never met either of them, I had only based contacting them on their previous reviews. We can say with all honesty, there was no fluff added to anything we had read. This is a time when things were actually as good as they appeared to be! Casey is a true craftsman. This is evident in not only his attention to detail but his artistry. He was able to transform my discombobulated thoughts into a beautiful guest bathroom! Wendy, the glue, the therapist, the designer, the bargain hunter, the make-it-happen gal! She held my hand through the entire process and made an experience that neither of us were looking forward to - dare I say fun! We have a 4-5 year plan for our home remodeling goals and knowing that weâ ve got Harris Renovations to return to throughout the process brings an excitement and security to those goals. Remodeling is not cheap but, being 100% satisfied with the finished product makes the saving over the years well worth it! Thank you Casey, Wendy, & crew for an amazing renovation to our home! "Eric Daniels was quick to respond to my request to have my fence repaired. He came out the same day to look at and quote the repair, and completed the repair the next day. He was very efficient and did a great job! And now he is getting me a quote for another project! I definitely recommend Daniels Renovations!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Add a T-shaped spacer to each corner of a tile when placing it. You’ll want to nudge the tiles closer together so the spacers are touching each corner. When you’re done installing your tile, you can remove each spacer, wash them, and use them for your next project.

Glazed ceramic tiles don’t need to be sealed because the glazing already offers some protection against moisture. Unglazed ceramic tiles need to be sealed to keep the porous tile safe from moisture and staining. However, both types of tile can benefit from sealing. Sealant can make the tiles easier to keep clean and offer more resistance to water, spills, and stains.

There are a few different tools you can use to score tiles. Manual tile cutters or tile scribes work well for scoring in straight lines. Tile nippers are one of the best options for scoring because they can make small and irregular cuts that larger tools may not be able to handle.

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

Tile floor installation usually takes about 16 hours of active work along with a couple of days of drying time between tile and grout applications.

The amount of time it takes your installer will depend on many factors, including the square footage of the space, the tile material type, and if they need to make intricate tile cuts.
