Small jobs welcome

"We highly recommend BNB Sealcoating. Brenden and Breanna responded very quickly for a quote on applying a 400 Degrees F plasticized sealer into the large cracks, applying a commercial grade sealer and then coming back the next day to apply a second coat. They did an outstanding job on our driveway."

"Brett arrived to give me a quote and schedule the work. The quote was very good and he was able to get me on the schedule immediately. He arrived promptly and did an impeccable job filling all of the cracks and sealing my very large driveway. I commend him for his mannerism and quality of work. In fact, a neighbor stopped to admire my driveway and now Brett is up the street and is sealing the neighborâ s driveway as I type this review! I would easily recommend him to anyone considering to have their driveway maintained. Well done, WB Paving & Sealcoating, LLC!"

"I don't write reviews very often but our experience with Wells Painting & Pressure Washing was fantastic!! The owner, Greg, is very friendly and honest. When we asked for certain services, he told us which ones would be a waste of our money even though that meant money out of his pocket. He came at the start and end of the job to ensure everything went well. His guys who power washed our house and driveway were great. They answered any questions we had and walked the house with us afterwards to make sure we were happy with their work. They even re-washed one area that we thought wasn't done thoroughly enough and did it with a smile and positive attitude. The house looks amazing! On top of all that, their prices were VERY good. Our next door neighbor was so impressed watching them work throughout the day that they hired them on the spot to wash their house as well. I would recommend Wells to anyone who asks."

Driveway Sealcoating FAQs, answered by experts

It is not recommended to seal brand-new or uncured asphalt immediately after installation. You should wait at least three months to allow the asphalt time to cure. Applying a seal coat too soon can trap the asphalt's oils and chemicals, preventing it from fully hardening. This can lead to a weaker surface that is more vulnerable to damage. After the initial three-month curing period, applying a seal coat can extend the asphalt's life by protecting it from water, UV rays, and other damaging elements.

When asphalt cures, it typically changes from a very dark black hue to a lighter, more matte gray color. Cured asphalt also won’t be tacky or sticky to the touch or emit any odors from the asphalt mix. Additionally, the surface of fully cured asphalt won’t deform under any pressure.

Yes, it’s possible to seal your driveway too much. Whether you have an asphalt or concrete driveway, sealing it every year opens your driveway to potential damage. Sealing an asphalt driveway annually may cause the seal to crack and peel even more. It may even trap oils within the asphalt that can leave you driving on a soft driveway. Avoid sealing your concrete driveway too much to prevent the concrete from cracking. If water enters these cracks, it can freeze, expand, and cause the cracks to worsen.

Instead of a set number of types, asphalt comes in variations designed for different needs. Some are categorized by temperature—hot mix, warm mix, and cold mix. Others are sorted by composition, like dense-graded, gap-graded (such as Stone Matrix Asphalt), porous, and mastic asphalt. There are also modified versions with added compounds like polymers, rubber, or emulsions. Instead of focusing on a number, it may be more useful to understand how contractors customize asphalt for durability, climate, and traffic conditions.

Regular cleaning, sealing, and timely repair of cracks help maintain its condition.
