He continually ran out of money through the project and kept forwarding money on the contract and then finally he just didn't ever show up and did not complete the project. I tried to contact him several times but he did not respond. So basically we're out of money from whatever we had paid him. I just wanted people to be aware of that."

There was a delay in shipping the materials, through no fault of THS. Page was the installer, and he was awesome - very particular about his work and nice as can be. He spotted a flaw in the shower base and another one had to be ordered. Again, through no fault of THS. He did a great job - above and beyond! The project took longer than expected, but it was understandable. I'm thrilled with the way everything turned out, and I definitely recommend THS to anyone looking for a shower upgrade."

"My husband and I highly recommend Roger King, aka, The Handy Man, for ANY of your home improvement needs! Roger was a God send when we had issues with our Florida home due to water damage in our kitchen and master bath. Once the mitigation was done and pipes were fixed, Roger came to our rescue and restored and remodeled our home. He replaced the drywall in the kitchen, bath, and garage. Took out a fireplace which we never used to make a nook for our stove and cabinets which he ordered and installed from a picture in a catalog! He ordered the cabinets, counters, kitchen island and hardware. The cabinets are beautiful and I no longer have blind cabinets that I can’t use. Roger also did electrical work in the kitchen by relocating outlets, light switches and the stove outlet. Due to the water damaged carpet in the dining room, we decided to replace it with luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the house. Imagine our surprise when he said, I can help with that too! He provided us samples of flooring and again took care of all the details. The finishing touch to our new kitchen was the installation of new LED lights. When it comes to cleaning bathrooms, bleach usually comes to mind. But like ammonia, bleach can damage acrylic tubs. In fact, many tub manufacturers warn against using bleach on acrylic bathtubs, and doing so could void the warranty on your tub. Again, a gentler cleaner specifically made for acrylic tubs, or one of the homemade methods listed above, is your better bet here.

There are a few signs, both obvious and not so obvious, that it's time to refinish your bathtub. While some of these signs aren't an urgent problem, others could lead to significant damage if left untreated. Signs you should look out for include:

  • Rust stains, which signal the tub's enamel or surface sealer is deteriorating 

  • Small chips, which can grow into larger chunks and can lead to rusting

  • Discoloration, which doesn't lead to a more significant problem but can be unsightly 

  • Dirty surfaces, which means that the tub glaze is breaking down and allowing dirt to seep below the coating

There are a few ways to check whether your tub is fiberglass or acrylic. If your tub is a color other than white, then your tub is likely acrylic (as fiberglass tubs are usually white). Check to see if there is discoloration on the bottom of the tub, because if it’s yellowed, then you can be fairly sure it’s fiberglass.

Also, fiberglass tubs have thinner edges and are cool to the touch. Acrylic, on the other hand, is either room temperature or warm to the touch.

The difference between resurfacing and refinishing is that refinishing only works on solid surfaces that are in good condition, whereas resurfacing will restore a cracked or worn surface to its original, blemish-free state. Refinishing will leave you with a smooth and glossy surface you can’t get from resurfacing alone. If that’s the look you’re going for, contact a local concrete finishing contractor to achieve it.

It is best to wear a respirator during the sanding, painting, and sealing process. It can filter particles, vapors, and fumes that can be toxic to breathe. So it’s better to be safe and protect your lungs during this project.
