Very professional and on-time.  The owner, Brandon, was reliable and knowledgable.  It is evident that the communication between Brandon and his staff and crew is excellent. They were all very helpful.

These guys set the standard for professionalism and quality of work.  Before we agreed to a contract they presented me with a copy of the most complete and comprehensive Scope of Work I've ever seen from a contractor.  The SOW outlined all work to be performed on each section of the ceilings and walls, and it had the pricing broken down by each section.  If I wanted to add or delete work from the SOW I would know exactly how much the cost would be.
All work was completed on time and the results are impressive.  You can't tell that they replaced the two sections of the ceiling where the mold was removed.  They applied textured (popcorn) paint to two repaired areas and spray-painted all of the ceiling areas in the entry foyer and hallway.  Everything looks perfect!
I understand that Midwest Restoration Technologies also does other repair work.  I would definitely ask these guys for a quote for other work around my home.

Brandon was top notch. They did everthing they said in a timely and punctual manner. All follow up and correspondence was also done just quickly and efficiently. There is and additional phase of the job to be done. I will have no problem contacting them to return to complete that phase.

I liked that they are knowledgeable and are willing to keep me informed about what's going on. I wanted to change the design as we were going along if I see things that need changed then and they also make recommendations. They are prompt as that is important and they will be here when they say they are going to be here. They leave by 4.30 and leave the area clean. They are willing o spend time informing you so that you know exactly what you are getting that is vital. They didn't just say they are doing and they kept me informed. They spend a lot of time doing that.

From the first contact, I was impressed with Brandon 's thorough evaluation of our water and mold removal needs. He provided a detailed bid covering the scope of work they would do to restore our lower level to normal. He also was very observant and noted other repairs that we needed done in our house and we hired MRT to do those repairs as well. His team was efficient, on time, and wonderful to work with. I think they are a company that goes the extra mile to give excellent service and I would highly recommend them. I will certainly call them for any restoration work I might need in the future!

They did exactly what they said they would do and the best part was that I did not have to talk with the insurance company at all. MRT took care of everything. In the first few weeks as they were removing and air scrubbing the mold issue, it was unbelievable the amount of protection they ensured was done for the rest of the home to avoid any cross contamination. Following that, they began the replacement process. While they contracted out for most of this work, I was able to meet with some of the contractors and discuss what I wanted. They used a great company to refinish my cabinets that I love! The new wood floors are beautiful, yet there has been some soft spots that have developed over time. MRT has come to fix and reinforce all the soft spots through the subfloor and it is great.
They helped me to put in a few upgrades as a good price. I put all new carpet in the house (as we had to replace some of the carpet) and also replaced the sliding glass door with a large window and door to have a french door appearance. The challenge was that I purchased the door and window at a rehab store and I did not know what a problem that would cause because there wasn't any framing. MRT explained the difference and sucessfully built framing for both items. My only complaint about this is that at the bottom, under the threshold, there is still the track for the sliding glass door that was there. I didn't even notice it until I was installing a storm door on the outside.
I was very pleased with the outcome and them completing the work when they said they would. Another great bonus is that they stand behind their work and will make repairs to any issues (such as my wood floors) for as long as I own the house.

Excellent service. As the job progressed and more damage was discovered they contacted other needed contractors for the electrical box and removal of water heater. They handled everything for me which was wonderful. I would definitely use them again and would have no problem recommending them to others.

George from Midwest Technologies helped us from start to finish. We discovered mold growing in our closet from a leaky pipe from behind the walls and ceiling. He assured us from the beginning that everything would be resolved and the mold would be completely remediated. He was always available for questions. Very professional and knowledgable. He took care of the removal of the moldy drywall and started the mold remediation process right away. He contacted the plumbing company United Plumbing and took care of everything for us. He and his guys came in and protected our hardwood flooring in the entry to ensure no stratches or messes while plumbing work was done. Both the secretary and George have been very nice and helpful through this process. The only thing I was dissappointed in was, there were basement boards that could have very easily been placed back up but this was not included in the initial scope, it was a seperate charge just to nail our boards and trim back up in the basement.

Originally, I contacted him for an estimate. But due to some tenant issue, I was not able to schedule him in. Nevertheless, Brandon continues to help me through the phone, which I deeply appreicated.

This was by far the most positive experience I have ever had with a service company in terms of responsiveness, professionalism, thoroughness and cost.

Water from a sprinkler had been hitting the seam between stone work and the wood frame in front of my garage. The caulking there had deteriorated causing water to enter. I noticed a small amount what appeared to be black mold at the seam in one place and was concerned there was more behind the wall. I didn't know who to call so I checked Angie's List and came up with Midwest Restoration Technologies who were very highly rated

I called Midwest Restoration Technologies on Wednesday 10/5/11 and spoke to Nicole the office manager. She said she would check with the guys out in the field and find out when they could come to my home. She called back within a few hours and said they were booked up today but that Brandon Jones could come at 9 AM on Thursday.. He arrive right on time the next morning and I described the problem to him. He did some moisture checking through the inside wall and said it didn't give very high readings and there probably wasn't a major problem. However, he said you couldn't be sure without cutting out a piece of the sheet rock and visually inspecting the area. I said I was reluctant to do that myself and said he would do it and there would be no charge. If I wanted his people to replace the sheet rock, mud, sand and paint (they would match and provide the paint) it, the cost would be $335.

Brandon cut an inspection panel in the sheet rock behind the area of concern. Fortunately there was no mold present. The particle board was wet in a small area at the bottom corner. So Brandon cut another inspection opening in the adjoining wall to be sure there was no mold in that area. It was OK with only a very small wet area. I told Brandon I was having a stone mason out to do some tuck pointing of the mortar, caulking and sealing the stone. He suggested that I ask him if the wet particle board presented any problem to the adhesion of the stone, just to be sure. This would have to be fixed from the outside.

Brandon was prompt, pleasant and thoroughly professional. He was at my home over an hour and there was no charge. I did not commit to having the sheet rock work done by him and there was no pressure from him to do so. I believe the charge for that work is very reasonable, but wish to wait until the area dries out and the stone mason completes his work. Midwest Restoration Technologies appears to be a company not looking to make a quick buck, but one looking to build their business by good customer service. I would recommend them to anyone who needs the type of service they provide.

I had just renewed my subscription to Angie's List a few weeks ago and have used it several times since. Mold is such an area of concern, it was comforting to be able to choose a company based on the experience of Angie's List customers.

They were on time. They were competent and they were within the bid. They were great. I couldn't even be there when the work was being done because I was at my parents' house since they had passed away. I had to work with my realtor to get all this done, and they got it done without me having to drive all the way there. I'm going to use their services again in the future.

I called them based on info I found on Angies's Llst...another leak has occurred following major snow storm. Brandon from Midwest set an appointment with me for the next day. He came out on time and started his inspection....going into the attic, checking out the roof etc. The inspection took about 2 hours. He then gave me a report as to what he had found including the offering of how his company could help us and what work would need to be offered to other contracting specialists...roof leak specialist and an insulation company. He gave us names of companies MIdwest works with regularly. He suggested we have the roof and insulation work completed first and then have the ceiling repairs completed. Midwest will help us with that work. He made arrangements for the speciality contractors to call us. They did just and we had the work completed. We feel the price Midwest charged for the inspection was very fair and led to a very positive outcome for us. I would highly recommend this contractor.

We purchased a foreclosure that had sat empty for over 12 months. For those of you in the know, if the humidity is not well controlled on a vacant property, the likelihood of mold increases significantly. Prior to purchase we had a lab test conducted and received high mold count in the basement and first floor. We checked Angie's List for providers and after a couple of phone calls, had our 2 top firms out to the house to give an estimate. Both companies were extremely professional, but Nichole from Midwest exuded a confidence about the action plan that we immediately gave them the job. Nichole even took into account our rehab plan for the house and advised us on how her operations would coincide with everything else we have planned. The process was lengthy but expected. Midwest installed scrubbers and Hepa-vacced the entire house. Also included was labor to remove the carpet and tack strip. (we had decided to replace carpet prior to buying the house). They cleaned out all the vents and cleaned the furnace. There was a good line of communication between us and Midwest the entire time. There was never any doubt about where we were in the project or if the timeline would be met. When they retested after the process, the results were stunning. The unaffiliated lab sent back the numbers and Midwest was able to shoot past my highest expectations on the results and gave us a safe house for our family. We were even pleased by the final invoice format. It was line by line and showed a clear correlation on the final amount. None of that scrap paper invoice some contractors use... For anyone needing mold remediation, I can 100% attest to the quality of this company. They make a serious problem easy to handle and do it with utter professionalism.

They were very thorough and cleaned up after themselves. The billing is a little shaky and hard to follow because they are asking for different amounts of money at different times, but their work is impeccable. They did have to come back and repair a few things.

The original estimate was for $3400, but we soon found out that there was more damage around the front door than we thought. But we discussed the updated estimate before any work was started, so there were no surprises there. Everyone I worked with were friendly and did a great job. I really appreciated having an itemized estimate so that I knew exactly how much each part of the job would be. This was my first time using this company, but I would definitely use them again.

The overall experience was fine except at the end when the technician didn't show up for almost a week because of car trouble or something. He did a good job to that point. He then went on to a different job and we received another technician for the final texturing and painting of the ceiling. He did a good job too. The first man brought another person with him who did not have much experience with the company (4 months). I believe he was a helper. I was not pleased that the helper drove his truck onto the driveway and on top of a large pile of yard clippings, tree branches, and garden tools. He said he did not see them. I would have given them a higher rating on punctuality and professionalism except for those two issues.

We found that we had a slow pipe leak from an upstairs bathroom down into the ceiling below, causing water damage and mold. Brandon came and did all the appropriate testing and was very knowledgable and made us feel very comfortable he knew what he was doing. His staff was very helpful as well. The project got bigger and took more time than we anticipated, but they kept us informed along the way. They were willing to work with us on ways to save money by us doing part of the work ourselves (ie, painting and putting the room back together when the job was done). We have an air quality test pending, but all in all we were very satisfied with MRT.

Brandon came I believe the day after I called. He examined both areas in the bathroom where there was a problem and relieved my apprehension about a lot of mold when he told me he didn't think they were related (and they weren't). I received two estimates. This one was more money but he included everything from start to finish (including paint) so it may not have cost me less using the other company. Brandon gave me much more confidence that he knew what he was doing. The workmen came on time, Brandon reviewed with them what needed to be done and they went to work. Had to removed attic fan to climb into attic! One of them came several times in order to properly prepare the wall they cut a hole in and paint. He was punctual every time and very courteous. Brandon even had them put up a wall fixture in another bathroom without charging me. In addition, he fixed a towel rod when he was here to do the estimate and didn't charge me. I liked them so well I am getting a bid on remodeling my kitchen. I have already recommended this company to a friend with a large mold issue.
