"We were very satisfied with the repair work. They performed exterior waterproofing system with Helical Tieback . Also installed sump pump system in the basement. The entire crew team very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable and were easy to work with. Everything was done in a timely manner. We would highly recommend Vic and his crew; and also Kody and his team."

"The installation went well. Since it was done because of water leaking in my basement, there were some issues after a major rain storm. The owner came out per my request and agreed to come back to readdress one area that still needs repair after another big rainstorm in the future."

"Service technician attempted to auger main sewer line with powerful, large auger which he had to transport down basement steps. He was able to clear line up to point where it left house but encountered snag and was unable to retrieve auger. He then televised line and showed me a large mass of tree roots that was blocking sewer line and where the auger was stuck. It took him quite a bit of time and difficulty to free auger. He then informed me that the concrete floor in the corner of the basement would have to be cut out around a clean-out since it was impossible to clear the snag with the auger. He also informed me his company could perform that service but not him since it required a plumber. He called in the request for an estimate in my presence but no one ever called to schedule the work. So I hired another plumber who dug out the floor and found the snag exactly where the technician said it was. Even when the clean-out was removed, the plumber had a difficult time clearing the roots and said that no auger could have cleared it. So I am very happy with the services of this company even though they failed to follow-up with an estimate for the additional work."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

It is better to have a crawl space that is tailored to the outside temperature, your needs, and the season. For example, it is much better to have a vented space when it’s very hot outside and your AC bills are sky-high. Conversely, when the temperature drops and humidity rises, it is almost always better to have your vents shut and covered if possible.

If your basement often leaks after heavy rain, it’s probably caused by hydrostatic pressure. When the ground is saturated with water, it can put pressure on the exterior of your home’s foundation, causing cracks in the basement wall and pushing water through any existing weak spots. Over time, hydrostatic pressure can cause structural damage to your home.

Having a trusted crawl space contractor is the key to great encapsulation. If you're not sure how to hire a crawl space pro, begin by asking your neighbors for referrals. Homes in your neighborhood will often have a similar foundation to your house, and personal recommendations are one of the best ways to find a contractor. Additionally, double-check that the contractor has experience with encapsulation as well as proof of their license and insurance.

No, your basement dehumidifier doesn’t need to be on 24/7. While it’s an excellent tool for tackling damp, musty air, especially in humid seasons, leaving it running nonstop can backfire. Over-drying the space can mess with your sinuses, warp wood, and even crack certain materials. Instead, only use your humidifier when moisture levels rise above 50%, and then give it a break when the humidity levels drop.

The most challenging part of finishing a basement is addressing moisture control. Basement waterproofing is an essential task that requires a professional’s skills and knowledge. If you don’t properly waterproof your finished basement, it’ll be vulnerable to dampness, water damage, and mold growth. Ensuring proper insulation and ventilation to combat these issues while meeting building codes adds complexity to your remodeling project.
