"I hired A Hardwood Floor for the install of my hardwood floor in my home. I thoroughly enjoyed speaking and working with Jeff on getting my project done. I was able to use his account at Denver Hardwood Co. and pick out a great hardwood and his team installed the hardwood in our home beautifully. I would give them 5 stars for that part of the job. The reason for the lower rating on Work Quality is I had also asked them to install Wood tread and risers that I had prepared on the staircase in our home. The quality of the install there was quite bad. The cuts on many of the treads and risers was very off on the sides, leaving many large gaps to the stringer itself. I tried using caulking on those gaps, but it still looks quite bad. I may need to re-do the stairs in it's entirety in the near future. Other than this, I would highly recommend Jeff and his team on hardwood floor installs."

"The kitchen floor was done in a day and absolutely seamless. He was very careful to mix between the boxes of flooring to ensure a beautiful blend of colors. He also has done bead-board on my kitchen walls and laid plank hardwood flooring for me as well."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Robert came to my home from Fabulous floors, he inspected the damage, measured the damage. We talked, he was incredibly knowledgeable gave me the estimate and returned a few days later and fixed my floors. They couldn’t look more beautiful. Everything went smoothly and I am extremely grateful. I really couldn’t have asked for more. I most definitely would recommend Fabulous floors to anyone who needed a repair or to put in new floors. Thank you SLMorgan"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Laminate flooring takes about 24 to 48  hours to settle. Before this, planks are not completely acclimated to your home, and walking on them could cause shifting and permanent damage to the flooring. You should allow floorboards to acclimate for 48 to 72 hours before installing so that they can adjust to your home’s humidity and temperature levels, but they will continue to acclimate and settle after installation. For this reason, avoid placing any furniture in the room for 72 hours after installation.

Your floors will continue to settle for a few months after installation, becoming less bouncy as they rest.

It’s better to lift and set down furniture; sliding it across the floor is more likely to cause damage to both the floor and the furniture itself. For very heavy items, consider using a dolly with rubber wheels. It is possible to purchase sliders designed specifically for gliding furniture across floors, but you still risk causing permanent damage to flooring if you use them.

If you’re using a carpet runner instead of a traditional carpet, pay attention to your width measurements. Instead of measuring the total width of your staircase with 2 added inches for foldover, simply measure the width you’d like the runner to cover. Runners generally come in standard sizes, so you may need to approximate what would look best in your space.

Carpeting with a low pile is both slip-resistant and soft, making it one of the safest types of flooring in the case of slips and falls. In order to be fully ADA-compliant, carpet shouldn’t exceed the thickness of half an inch, and you should secure the edges to the floor to prevent trip hazards.

Other ADA-compliant flooring options include hardwood, laminate, or ceramic tile with a gritty, anti-slip surface. Ceramic or porcelain tile are actually some of the best types of flooring for wheelchair users.

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.
