"Alexander is a knowledgeable and straightforward contractor! We were very impressed with his professional manner, expertise and his non-stop work ethic. What we thought was going to be a two day job, was done in one 10 hour day!! We will absolutely call him for our next project!"

"He did an excellent job. He was very creative and added an 18 inch extended area in my bathroom for storage and a bench. He also added a beautiful garden window that really opened it all up beautifully. He did my total bathroom remodel and worked well and communicated well with the other contractors. He is very pleasant. He cares that I am happy with the project and works very hard to make it happen. With all of the challenges of Covid I would not have thought it could go so well or be so great. I would not hesitate for one moment to refer anyone to him."

"I found him hard to work with (e.g. doesn't listen, pushy about doing it his way.) I was really hesitant after the estimate but he just kept pushing about it and I didn't have any other options - but I was sorry afterwards. I don't really like it, the quality doesn't seem great - but most important, it's not level. Drives me crazy and looks bad - just three panels and it's not level! Makes me nuts looking at it - feels like I threw my money away."

"I never contacted the provider or used this service in anyway. I have to
write this review so that the request to write this review stops
popping up.
The rating is bogus as it is required to be able to submit.

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

Removing a load-bearing wall is best handled by professionals. However, if you have the skill set and decide to DIY the project, you will still need at least one additional person to assist you. Aside from helping with demolition, you'll need another hand to install the new support beam.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

If the bowing basement wall is less than 2 inches, steel or carbon fiber straps are the best solution. For bowing that is more than 2 inches, wall anchors are the most effective. A contractor can help you decide the best method of repair for your home's foundation and also address the root cause of the trouble.
