"My kitchen was transformed and itâ s beautiful. He not only did the countertops but also rearranged my cabinets. He took out a cabinet that blocked the view from the kitchen from the living room. Then he flipped one to the back wall. There is so much more light coming into my kitchen. Jeff is experienced and knew how to customize my kitchen to look the best. I highly recommend him!"

"Excellent person to work with. Had good discussion on the various countertop options available with pluses and minuses and samples. Install is well done. Very professional and great attention to detail. Easy to work with and flexible. Price was very reasonable given the high quality install. He replaced kitchen and bathroom countertops."

"

I visited their showroom on Highway 13, and it was the only place out of four I had visited that day who couldn't provide me with an estimate. I had to schedule an in-home measurement in order to find out the cost. When they came out to measure I was asked if I had other estimates, and I did have two in writing. The salesperson told me they probably were wrong because they hadn't measured and couldn't be right. Much to my surprise I was told their cost would be higher than the estimates I had received! Another appointment had to be set to go back to their showroom in order to receive their estimate. The day before I received a call letting me know it was between $1500 and $2500 more than other estimates. They offer a free faucet, free sink, and free undermount lighting. At this point I had already gone 1.5 weeks without a kitchen faucet since mine broke. I had already ordered one, and asked if they could lower the price if I didn't need or want the free items. I was told no, it is included in the pricing. I then explained the appointment was no longer necessary.

"Very professional start to finish. Received a quick detailed estimate, and scheduling and service were also very promptà ¢à  à ¦speedy in fact. Our countertops look fabulous, exceeding expectations. Ità ¢à  à  s difficult to find someone to do this work, and I had my doubts about using a company I found on the internet. But we are so glad we took the chance on Surface Link because they did a perfect job. It is Hard to find a contractor we can say that about todayà ¢à  à ¦. We are often disappointed. Not with this company. Or this technician (Steve ) who is a pro at this. Time will tell, but as of today, we are thrilled."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Concrete countertops require regular upkeep to maintain their appearance and durability, and are generally considered harder to maintain than other materials. For daily cleaning, use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner and avoid harsh, acidic products that can damage the sealant. It is crucial to wipe up spills immediately, especially from acidic substances, as concrete stains easily. To protect against stains and moisture, the countertops must be resealed periodically—at least once a year, if not more frequently. Additionally, use a cutting board to avoid scratching the surface. Be aware that concrete is also prone to cracking over time, which may require repairs.

Granite countertops can last for 100 years or more with proper maintenance, even in high-traffic areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Granite can crack, stain, or fade over time, like any countertop material, but it’s a highly durable option that should offer a lifetime of use. Some ways to increase the longevity of granite countertops include regularly cleaning the surface, especially after spills, avoiding sharp objects directly on the countertop, and resealing the material every few years.

There are many differences between solid surface and quartz countertops. Whether one is as good as the other will depend on what you value most in a counter. These two materials are nonporous, although quartz is more durable. Some people may prefer the look of quartz, although they’re both available in many different colors and designs.

Countertop overlays can be a worthwhile investment for homeowners looking for an affordable and fuss-free way to update their kitchens without a full replacement. The installation process is budget-friendly, saves time and labor, and can often be completed in a single day as it doesn't require demolition. Overlays are installed directly over the pre-existing countertop, with material options including quartz, granite, and recycled glass. However, for the overlay to be long-lasting, it is crucial that the underlying surface is properly prepped to ensure strong adhesion.

Solid surface countertops are fairly resilient. You can use soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners. You can also occasionally use diluted bleach (around 5 tablespoons per gallon of water) for sanitization. Avoid window cleaners because they leave a waxy film that can dull the countertop’s surface. Solid surface material is nonporous, so there’s no need for sealing.
